The backlog of court cases addressing the status of illegal immigrant’s has reached over one million, prompting Justice and immigration courts to step up efforts to hire more judges, digitize old paper systems and speed up court proceedings.

James McHenry, the director of the Executive Office for Immigration Review, which handles immigration cases, said Tuesday that the backlog of active cases is over 692,000 and that the courts have an additional 330,000 cases that have been put into “administrative closure,” but that are still before the courts.

Even with hiring new judges, the backlog will take years to clear, he added.

The office has 334 judges around the nation and Congress has authorized a total corps of 484. President Trump has sought a total of 700.

The backlog of cases jumped under former President Obama as did the backlog of deportations, which is 684,583.

“Even with hiring new judges, the backlog will take years to clear, he added.”

Cut out the Middle Man; if they can’t PROVE that they are here legally - kick ‘em out! Give local police the power to do this, no questions asked.

Why do they even have a “case”? If they are here illegally, deport them. Kick the ass of any activist judge that stands in the way.

Some Freepers took issue with me a week or two ago for maintaining that the Immigration issue decided by Neil Gorsuch’s vote was a bad one.

I didn’t say he was a bad justice (I think he is very good) just that I think he got it wrong in this case.

I appreciate that he may have been right in a very narrow sense as applied to this specific person who was NOT an illegal immigrant, but was here as a permanent resident alien. (Green card)

The problem is, his decision and the Supreme Court ruling resulting from it is going to exacerbate this problem (already in awful shape) terribly.

Immigration Lawyers and “immigrant rights” groups see this ruling as a dollar sign and a green light to pursue every option open now to keep someone in country.

There’s no requirement for any court to be involved, this is some kind of scam. Job security maybe. Illegal aliens or foreign nationals should be denied entry, and if they make it into the country, they should be deported. I suppose there needs to be some kind of determination on whether they are in fact an illegal. Other than that not much else is necessary. Of course they should be treated humanely.

The truly humane thing to do is remove the conditions and the incentive for people to walk from Guatemala (or wherever) in order to gain status in this country. There are millions of people on food stamps in this country. Millions of people unemployed or underemployed, cities and states with crushing debt, failing pension programs. The national government is technically insolvent to the tune of $20,000,000,000,000 with fivefold that in further promises. There is no pressing need to import people who are illiterate in their native language, who have no marketable skills. We can feel empathy for them but that does not mean they have a right to move here. We can help them where they are at right now.

Unlawful enemy combatants (and this is also a problem) can be handled with a bit more urgency. That’s where the citizens are at right now. Our elected officials - duly elected and sworn - are using them against the citizens, in open defiance of federal law, and common decency, their oath of office, etc. It is a FELONY. The longer this goes on the worse it’s going to be.

Borders wide open. Keep in mind one of the very few duties of the national government by law is to protect the states from invasion. Do you get a sense that’s what they have been doing? I don’t care how nice the “immigrants” are, or how photogenic or how much of a guilt trip the usual suspects try to lay on everybody. This is a scam. Don’t be fooled.

We need to stop adding to the queue. Put new illegals awaiting hearings in detention until their hearing (since the globalist Left insists that those criminals should have hearings). Give them no opportunity to work, to hide, to integrate, to have anchor babies, or for whatever they are hoping for before their hearings.

Hold the hearings last-in, first-out. Illegals without “cause” to stay will be deported without ever benefiting from their crime. Illegals who have been coached well enough to claim some valid excuse will have to pass a lie detector test once their hearing is tentatively in their favor. If they fail, again they are also deported without any opportunity to profit from their crimes.

And those who have a valid claim for asylum, refugee status, or whatever? They can stay ONLY if they are from Mexico or Canada. Otherwise, they crossed through another country, and they should have stopped in the first country they entered. I am okay with legal immigrants to the extent that their entry helps the United States and in particular helps working Americans. I am not okay with legal immigrants whose arrival hurts real Americans, and I am not okay with illegal immigration under any circumstances.

I’ll bet the globalist “bog the system down” advice would come to a screeching halt if Trump’s immigration people adopted my strategy. Who wants to be the sacrifice sitting in detention for months or years to clog the immigration courts?

SAUL ALINSKY RULE 8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new. (Attack, attack, attack from all sides, never giving the reeling organization a chance to rest, regroup, recover and re-strategize.)

The Congress of the United States is filled with useless and in some cases criminal scumbags who have done absolutely nothing but screw up our country and ignore their Constitutional duty to protect it from foreign invaders.
