President Donald Trump told supporters at a speech on Saturday that if Congress did not meet his funding demands for border security, he may support a government shutdown this fall.
Trump was speaking in Washington Township, Michigan, at the same time that the White House correspondents' dinner was taking place back in Washington, DC, with some lawmakers and current and former members of his administration in attendance. During his remarks, he alluded to the appropriations deadline at the end of September.
"We have to have borders, and we have to have them fast," he said. "And we need security. We need the wall. We're going to have it all. And again, that wall has started. We got 1.6 billion. We come up again on September 28th, and if we don't get border security, we'll have no choice. We'll close down the country because we need border security."

I’m really starting to like a DMZ style zone and holding facilities to hold invaders in until they can be flown back to their country of origin. If they are civil we can even land to let them out of the plane. Mexico can keep the rights to the area and stay the h3ll out of the way.

Trump is actually negotiating here. He’s staking out a position he know the other side won’t accept and then he will dial it back to a position he wanted all along and the other side will accept it because they think he compromised

- Trump staked out 15% corporate taxes, then dial it to 20% then 21%. This got the nevertrumpers on board thinking Trump didn’t get what he wanted
-remember the $1.6billion in the ominibus bill? Trump been trying to get this for 6 months, but DEM kept denying it be included into any spending bill. Trump created leverage by expiration DACA. Offered DACA for $25 billion. DEM/Graham countered with DACA for $1.6 billion. Now he got the $1.6 billion without giving up DACA.
All the Trump critics were all focus on the fact he didn’t get funding to build the wall, he exactly got the exact funding he asked for 6 months ago
