The new chief of New York City's public schools got a lot of attention over a tweet he shared on Friday that referred to some parents in the school district as 'wealthy white Manhattan parents.' Chancellor Richard Carranza tweeted a story from the rawstory.com web page, which posted to his account with the following auto-generated text: 'WATCH: Wealthy white Manhattan parents angrily rant against plan to bring more black kids to their schools.' Carranza told NBC's News 4, 'They weren't my words,' despite the fact that the tweet sparked a lot of engagement over the headline, which was mostly in support of the chancellor's post. The post had garnered over 3,000 likes, more than 2,400 retweets and nearly 500 comments in the 20 hours since he shared it, at close to 1.00am Eastern on Friday.

Anybody think that the blacks will ever realize what the liberals are really doing to them. Gee. The liberal’s abortion mills are located into black neighborhoods. Black kids are herded into union controlled patronage cesspools masquerading as schools. The few kids that liberals spawn “choose” the best schools. Black “leaders” sell their souls for pennies.
I grew up on the UWS and the schools are good - and actually have a fair number of “minorities,” since the neighborhood has a large Hispanic presence and a mostly black housing project. And of course there are Asians, many of whose parents have moved to the neighborhood so they can get into those middle schools. The parents - including the black and Hispanic parents - have worked hard to keep those schools good, and now the new chancellor is announcing a plan to bring in a full 25% of “low performing” kids from elsewhere.
Can you imagine what suddenly filling the school with violent, failing teenagers is going to do, not only to the schools but the neighborhood? And then he went for the gold by coming out and screaming to the press that it was all because of those evil white parents...and the guy has only been on the job a couple of weeks. What’s next?

UWS parents should get ready for racially-based, outcome-sensitive school discipline policies.
UWS parents no doubt are familiar with Broward County, Florida....... a place that looms large as to how Obama-enforced racially-based school discipline policies worked out.
Kind of like “Catholic” Pelosi slamming them religious people who go to Church on Sunday and then pray with other folks the rest of the week.....what’s up with that....

I’ll cut the parents some slack on this one; the school currently has a blind admissions system— if you are smart enough to pass you are considered for admission. Minorities already get preference— IF THEY PASS. What the new administrator is trying to do is bring in the ones that fail as well. Now, aside from points others have brought up— increased violence, crime, behavior problems, hostile learning environment for other kids— there is the cost part. These kids will be subsidized, and according to the administrator himself they will require additional resources (tutors, teachers) to try to get them up to minimal standards. They will likely fail, which will lead to a spiral of even more money being thrown at the problem which will eventually be footed by these parents and other taxpayers.
There may be one or two or three minority students that excel in the new environment, but for the most part, the rest will cause trouble, and ultimately bring this school to the bottom of the pile education wise.
Let me get this straight.....when Liberals propose things, they are righteous, when the opposition objects, they are shamed, bullied and belittled.
My guess is that a large group of minority parents would actually like segregated schools.
BUT..remember that the government knows what is best for you and your children. You will obey.
Wealthy Manhattan parents don't send their kids to public schools. These are middle/working class white parents, who are angry because sending their kids to private school is not an option.

Interesting background. You mention that the parents worked hard to keep the schools good, including the black and hispanic parents, which presumably includes the black parents in the housing project. What is it that motivated those parents? Whatever it is, we need to bottle it and replicate it.
