Nicola Sturgeon has insisted that rejecting a deal with the UK government over post-Brexit powers was "in the national interest".
The first minister was speaking as Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson accused her of putting the "nationalist interest" first.
..The first minister said that no "self-respecting member of this parliament should give those proposals the time of day and this government will not do that".
And she added: "This deal is not in the national interest, that is why I won't sign up to it.
"If that means we are the only party prepared to stand up for the rights and powers of this Scottish Parliament then so be it.".

I see the Angry Troll is at it again...
Scotland leaving England would be the best thing to happen for England. Scotland has sadly devolved to a Stalinist hellhole drain on the rest of the UK.
“Rejecting Brexit deal ‘in national interest’”
Don’t you have to have a “nation” to have “national interests”? Scotland is ruled by an English queen.
No, it’s a constitutionally correct usage. Scotland continued to be a nation after the Union of the Crowns and subsequent Union of the Parliaments to form the United Kingdom. The Queen is not an ‘English Queen’. She’s Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, which includes two nations, Scotland and England, plus the Principality of Wales. The Union of the Crowns in 1603 actually happened when a Scottish monarch inherited the English throne, so the Scottish crown arguably has seniority in the Union.
The SNP currently form a Minority Government in the Scottish Parliament, so she doesn’t have the votes for force through another Independence Referendum.
Also the SNP lost seats to the Tories in the last Westminster election, at time the Tories took it on the chin in England and Wales.
I have a LOT of issues with Ruth Davidson but she has been fighting the good fight against the Nationalists.
The notion that Scotland would leave Great Britain in order to remain subject to a larger European Union, takes the whole concept of nationalism and stands it on its head.
I know how Scots put it; as Irishmen we never forget they were used by England to colonize the north of our island. We have a republic; they have an English queen :p
