Former Massachusetts governor and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney finished second at the Utah Republican Convention on Saturday behind State Rep. Mike Kennedy (R-Alpine).
Romney and Kennedy will now face each other in a primary election, because neither Romney (49.12%) nor Kennedy (50.88%) reached the 60% threshold necessary to secure the partys nomination automatically.

Let's help a Kennedy defeat Romney once last time!!!
Hory Clap !
But he's proving once again that he's still exactly the man that the in-the-tank GOPe wants to run again.
Enough with the Trumps who fight and win by winning the GOP base. Pleasing Democrats by backstabbing the GOP base and losing is the way of the GOPe.
Still a risk that Romney might make it into the general election.
He is not one bit above going “third party”, dividing what would be normally the overwhelming Republican majority in Utah, and electing a Democrat by default, on a bare plurality.
After all, who elected Bill Clinton? It was H. Ross Perot, who bled off just enough votes from George H.W. Bush in 1992 to put Slick in on a plurality, that would have spelled defeat in any other election.
Crawling over broken glass will be an even more important factor in this election than it had been in years past.
Looks a 1000 times better than Romney and not a carpetbagger. Too bad Trump already endorsed Romney.
Yes, let’s roll Ted in his grave one more time!
Looks good !
Dr. Mike Kennedy is a lot of things State Legislator, Doctor, Lawyer, Eagle Scout, Husband, Father of eight, and a Self-made man who grew up in a single-parent home in less than fortunate circumstances. Disputing the notion all kids who grow up poor are destined for failure, Mike worked hard to find success and provide a better life for his family.
Working his way through college to support himself, Mike was able to graduate with a bachelors degree from BYU, only taking time off to serve a 2-year LDS Mission, before graduating from medical school at Michigan State.
After completing a Family Practice Residency, Mike moved his family back to Utah and started law school at BYU. Mike worked full-time as a family physician and attended BYU law school part-time. After graduating from law school, Mike continued practicing medicine and did some legal consulting.
In 2012, Mike was elected as a member of the Utah State House of Representatives, where he has received awards for his conservative, free-market approach and leadership. As a legislator, Mike works with others to pass positive and impactful legislation keeping government limited and allowing Utahs economy to thrive.
Mike works as a family doctor in Lindon and volunteers his time giving free medical care to uninsured Utah residents at the Provo Volunteer Care Clinic. He and his wife, Katrina, have been raising their eight children in Utah for 20 years. Mike enjoys starting his days with long walks and weight lifting. He ends his days with dinner and reading scriptures with his family.

Romney cannot be allowed access to the DC Swamp.
Please visit Kennedy's website and donate, if so moved. I have written them, asking what out-of-staters can do to help the Utah campaign, you all might do likewise.

Can Liberals vote? If they can I bet they screw this all up & vote Romney!
It would do my heart a world of good if Mittens were to lose in Utah.
Good news for a Sunday morning.
I hope the people of Utah see Mutt for what he is....a carpetbagger. Claims allegiance to Michigan, Massachusetts, Utah. What a tool.
"Earlier, another Romney rival, Jeremy Friedbaum, pulled out a carpetbag as a prop on stage to protest the fact that Romney moved to Utah more recently than some of the other candidates."--from WGOW
I’ll be supporting another Kennedy for Senate...I hope this Kennedy (like the Louisiana Kennedy) will NEVER drive off a bridge with a pregnant female in their car....
Reading the article, one wonders where and when Mitt Romney did his Mormon missionary work?
France
One last chance to avoid Senator Windsock.
So much for Willard being a shoo-in.
