If only you were 1/100th as clever and insightful as you imagine yourself to be! *snicker*

The "distinction" between "WHITE SLAVERY" and SEX TRAFFICKING, is that the former was primarily a problem for white girls and young women, where as the term "sex trafficking", is non-race specific. And today, the vast majority of girls and women preyed upon are black, "Hispanic", and Asian.

They went after Johnson because he was NOT married to any of the women ( some were black, some were white ) with whom he was having dalliances with across state lines. He FLAUNTED his behavior and was a "BIG MOUTH", who had upturned the applecart, so to speak, so though there was some bias against him, he wasn't the only person to have been caught, tried, convicted, and sent to jail under the Mann Act; not by a long shot.

Just as today, the damned race-baiters and pro dopers claim that it's ONLY blacks who are in jail for having a teensy amount of pot on them ( which is NOT true at all, those in jail for pot have plea bargained something horrid down to "possession" ), laws can and have been used/misused in the past; like it or not. But Johnson was guilty!

You posted that this law is "horseshit".

I said it wasn't and isn't and it is YOU and YOU alone, who won't let it go, whilst claiming that it is I who won't. That is illogical in the extreme.

And now you are, once again, needlessly heaping untoward calumny upon me...having the temerity to imply that you are "civil", circumspect, and my superior. Go peddle your crap somewhere else!

"...on the same team."? LOL...obviously not; you are beneath contempt.

Hearsay and you aren't "impressing" anyone with your story!

What I said about Clay/Ali is public knowledge, used to be well known by all, and very good reasons to NOT think much of him.

So it’s the alcohol....or the firearm...that is the guilty party and not the person?

The firearm? Of course not.The alcohol? Given that its introduction into the system takes a conscious decision,no.

However,it would take weeks for me to tell you 1% of the stories I have regarding the effects...the breathtaking destruction...that alcohol causes.

No doubt and you can’t unsee what you have seen. My oldest daughter’s fianceee plus 5 others were killed in a two car drunk driving crash. I would skin alive anyone who caused and survuved that kind of carnage.

The indictment, and prosecution and trial were not just the “crime” was nonsense. Justice was not served in any sense by them.

Trump can rectify he and I am sure he will.

Today the conviction would not stand one round of appeals.

This man’s prosecution was ridiculous. Prostitution was rampant in Chicago with whole districts being notorious. Yet, rather than address this horrible evil they go after one guy.

You think the whoremasters and madams did not import girl from all over the US and staff the brothels with young girls of every race?

You're making a judgement using today's ethos, NOT what it was over 100 years ago and therein lies your fault.

Trump probably shall pardon him, but it isn't meaningful to anyone other than Johnson's family, who probably never even knew him.

Even the title of the law was racist. There were many black prostitutes in the Chicago brothels, some were housed all blacks, some of those would not service a black customer.

Prostitution was rampant in Chicago ( though the great bordellos were no longer all that great there anymore ), in New Orleans, in NYC, and other places; however it was NOT "legal"! Pimps and Madams paid off corrupt policemen and politicians.

Would you like a book list about prostitution in the USA? Just send me a FRmail note and I'll give you one.

Though some women/girls went into that "profession" willingly/on their own, where do you imagine that the girls and young women who were talked into/seduced into being ruined were sold out to? ;^)

No...mixed race Houses were NEVER the "norm"! Oh there were some; however, most of the "famous"/infamous POSH bordellos and even many that weren't so "elite" published books describing the denizens of each "House".

Oh gee...the law was written by a man whose last name was MANN; the title of the law is THE MANN ACT!

Just HOW is THAT "racist"?

Psssssssssssssssst...being arrogant is one thing, being stupid, and proudly so, is worse and what you are.

Not having a law degree myself I don't have a clue as to the accuracy of your claim.Would you care to tell us where you earned *your* law degree?

My degree is from Free Republic.

Nevertheless, it does not take a degree to see that cases with rigged juries are thrown out on a regular basis.

“White slavery” was based on the idea that only whites were coerced into prostitution, it was the natural state of Blacks.

At least I don’t post over a name which is completely out of date and inappropriate. And I don’t post defenses of an unjust and ineffective law. Did it break up any major prostitution ring? Or prosecute any Major whore-masters? Not likely.

And we're sure that it's a "rigged jury",that is:a jury without a single shred of credible evidence to support a "guilty" verdict,because....

OK...so the issue is actually an unjust law rather than insufficient evidence to support a "guilty" verdict.Yes,IIRC at least one or two previous posts having raised that same issue.

Today one sees, from time to time, stories about "sex tourism" and "sex trafficking" occurring in various parts of the world.I,for one, don't have the first clue how common,or uncommon, such activities are.But IMO it's not unreasonable for any nation...First World,Third World,or anything in between...to have laws forbidding these things.
