Massachusetts preschool tells children to stop saying 'best friend'
By Greg Norman | Fox News
None of the students at a Massachusetts preschool have a best friend. And that's an order.
Pentucket Workshop Preschool's "best friend" policy is being blasted by a parent who says her daughter got upset after reportedly being told by a teacher she couldnt use the term because it could make other students feel excluded.
"How do you police a 4-year-old from expressing their feelings?" Christine Hartwell, whose daughter, Julia, attends the Georgetown school, told FOX25 Boston. "It's outrageous, it's silly [and] it hurts.
Hartwell added: "When I asked her what was wrong she said she was really sad about what her teacher did that day."
The school does not spell out the policy in their handbook, according to Hartwell, but she told FOX25 Boston she got a letter from Pentucket's director.
"It has been our experience (which spans decades) that the use of the term 'best friend,' even when used in a loving way, can lead other children to feel excluded [...] which can ultimately lead to the formation of 'cliques' and 'outsiders,'" the letter was quoted as saying.
It adds the school will continue to discourage children from saying the term.

Smple...... they are from Massachuttes and are not American
Theyre Marxists working hard on destroying America. Thats whats wrong
” We don’t need no thought control.”
I think it was just a couple years ago that some 5-year-old boy kissed a 5-year-old girl and the discussion was: “Is this a sex assault? Is he a sex offender?”
And now, we’re already at the point where humans are not allowed to have best friends.
Let’s avoid all normal human contact. Let’s just stare at our phones and send texts to people we don’t know. That’s healthy.
No friends (too individual), just Comrades (more inclusive).
Funny you should say that.About 2 weeks ago I brought my car in for its annual state inspection.A new rule for getting an inspection sticker says that no part of the license plate can be obscured...so I had to remove the frames I've installed. Those frames obscure only a small part of the plates...the part that says "The Spirit of America".I vigorously disagree with that statement, believing that Massachusetts is "The Spirit of North Korea",not America.
So now I understand that under Massachusetts law I can be stopped for this...and I hope I am.I hope I am because SCOTUS ruled in Wooley v. Maynard that states cannot compel people to display political statements with which they disagree...that case having involved New Hampshire's plates which said "Live Free Or Die".
You are my kind of rebel.
Schools are an arm of the government. They are a perfect example of what government does when it acquires complete power over people, as they do for several hours every day, part of the year.
They force compliance with their dogma. They banish all opposing viewpoints. They punish non-compliance.
Completely destroying the value system that the kids have learned from their parents and church is the goal.
Yes, when your interest and/or affection is greater for one person other persons ARE excluded from that. It is human nature that we do not find ourselves equally sympatico with everyone.
It is not entirely a “value” judgement. It is also a matching and not matching of personalities (shy, outgoing, funny, serious, aggressive, timid, self-assured, insecure, physical, stand-offish, ect., ect.) that we do, or do not, work well together with.
“Education” is quickly becoming a factory - MANUFACTURING people “scientifically”. [For when technology needs human robots.]
Communists, all along the spectrum of social justice warriors, want, "equality" as their goal in society. They can't stand that anyone has more in life than anybody else. That you can earn more by working harder is anathema to their world view and even in interpersonal relationships they want control.
They hate that some people have an advantage by virtue of being attractive, or kind, or funny. The ugly and unpleasant need to be made to feel uplifted but, since that is not viable, the only option is to bring down those that do have gifts. The equalization idea extends to try to make the abnormal (LGBTQ) acceptable.
This is a private school. However, I’m sure all the teachers were educated in other indoctrination centers.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
My husbands ancestorswere stoned to death at the Salem Witch Trials. Massachusetts has been a bit crazy for centuries I doubt things will ever get better.
“”Yes, when your interest and/or affection is greater for one person other persons ARE excluded from that””
AND shortly MA will also declare that it will not be appropriate - perhaps even illegal - for a man to ask a woman to marry him as there will be hundreds of women who will feel left out...or heck, seeing it’s MA, if a woman asks a woman to marry or a man asks a man....
Pretty soon if we don’t get rid of these idiots, everyone in the whole country will have to read a check list before getting out of bed in the morning...
for leftards, man has to evolve into a perfect leftard being, and society has to be restructured in order to help it evolve into a leftard utopia
Tell Ms Harwell to send her child somewhere else.
In other words, don’t develop any sense of values.
Get control of them at a young age. And we’ve had stories of more and more colleges which do not allow students to pick their own roommates. Next Big Brother will want to decide who you can date and who you can marry.
