Republican Sen. Ron Johnson (Ohio) said Thursday that its way too early to discuss supporting President Trump in 2020.
Chris, you know its way too early to be talking about the 2020 - Johnson told CNNs New Day when asked if he will support Trump in a 2020 re-election bid.
No, it isnt not to say that you support the guy whos president, whos the head of your party, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo pushed back. Johnson argued that 2020 could be a different landscape and pointed to the Novembers upcoming midterm elections.
It could be a completely different world by 2020. We have a 2018 election first, Johnson said. So, you know, I understand the kind of gotcha question youre engaging here. But its just way too early to even be talking about it.

I live in Ohio and despise all Ohio politicians with equal enthusiasm. They all have one thing in common - gutless!
Of course I have never heard of Ron Johnson.
Let all the psychopaths and other sleaze bags congregate in the Democrat Party--the Party of Slavery, Jim Crow, the Ku Klux Klan, illegal immigration, Voter Fraud, Voting Felons, Segregation, Corruption, Decadence, Crime, Filth, and the Destruction of the USA!
Ron Johnson..Loser!!!!!!
So many repubs are complete losers. Idiot...President Trump is the head of your crappy party!
The senator is wrong. Bigly.
The Hill was in a hurry to publish another Trump bashing piece, so why bother checking facts?
They haven’t learned anything from 2016 have they?
Way too early? I think if the following is happening, PDJT's a shoe-in for 2020:
1. Economy humming along over 3%;
2. Trade deals that have been screwing America for years get fixed and our trade gap narrows;
3. As a bonus, North Korea really does start de-nuking and the world is a little safer.
If PDJT can point to the first two and say "Promises made, promises kept!" I think he easily wins re-election.
If he gets #3 on that list, it's a landslide unlike any we've seen since Reagan '84.
I caught that too and chuckled. So why does it matter? They got it wrong, couldn't fact-check even the most BASIC of things so why isn't everything in this article on The Hill FAKE NEWS!!!!
No reason to support Johnson for reelection either!
