David Hogg and Lauren Hogg, students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and survivors of February’s deadly mass shooting in Parkland, Florida have signed a deal with Random House for a book to be published in June, EW has confirmed.
The siblings have been leaders in the gun control movement that took shape among students, in the aftermath of the Parkland shooting. Their book, #NeverAgain, is described as “a statement of generational purpose, and a moving portrait of the birth of a new movement.” The book will explore their efforts taking on some of the most powerful forces in Washington and beyond, and will detail their commitment to new legislation aiming to prevent future tragedies.
“In times of struggle and tragedy, we can come together in love and compassion for each other,” David Hogg said in a statement. “We can see each other not as political symbols, but as human beings. And then, of course, there will be times when we simply must fight for what is right.”
“It’s amazing to see that so much love can come from so much loss,” Lauren Hogg added. “But from our loss, our generation will create positive change.”

Well, see....you open this whole discussion. Kids in the group of 16-to-18....mostly read fantasy science fiction garbage. In the 18-to-25 group...I doubt if 20-percent actively read two books a year or more. Reading a book that is obsessed with a shooting, and anti-gun? Based on the event, you might have 50 pages of material. But you have to avoid discussing any of Cruz’s problems because it just further proves his nutcase status and why he never should have been there.
I’m going to be surprised if this book goes past 150 pages because there just not much to say. The anti-statistics will be pure cherry-picking....being obvious as you try to consume the material.
Course, you may have 300 teachers across Florida who try to mandate it as a class project or a class-read type thing.
Nationally, a year after it’s published....I doubt if you can find more than 2-percent of the youth population who’ve read it. Your point may be correct in the end.
Gap year. Its funny, when I went to college if you told someone you needed to take a year off to “find yourself” it was either because you couldn’t get in, or you were never going to go. (Which I always thought wasn’t a bad thing...)

And, I would not at all be surprised if Hogg or that other Castro-loving girl gets nominated for a Nobel Peace prize. Probably win too.
