2. You might want to take a quick look around your own state, because there's a whole lot of “blue” already there and it's growing. Houston, blue, Dallas, blue, SA, blue, Austin, blue.
Plus take a gander at your counties that front the Rio Grande, all blue, two counties deep. Like California, only the sparsely populated areas of Texas are still red ( like Swollen Groin, the town where Buford T. Justice was sheriff).
You will be amazed at how quickly the “conversion” takes place and I doubt that CA expats are going to be what does you in, because the ones that are leaving here are not the liberals. The liberals will be the last to leave.

Yes. They breathe a sigh of relief, and that lasts a few months. Then they begin to start in with telling people “a few good ideas California has”. And they start supporting the local abortion clinic. On and on. I bet to a person they support foggotry and letting in all the foreigners they can.
Then elections come. It is bad for Texas to have a California exodus. And this has been the experience of every other state that has suffered the Californication. Idaho, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico...
