The top executive of a Southern California private charter airline says the Golden States hostile business environment propelled his companys decision to relocate to Texas.
Not being viewed as an enemy, but being viewed as an asset is so refreshing, said Alex Wilcox, Chief Executive Officer of JetSuite Inc. He described the air carriers decision to move to North Texas this summer as a welcome change.
He shared a glaring example of one difference between California and business-friendly Texas. I tried to start flying out of Santa Monica, California. And they sued me because I was trying to bring a service to the city, said Wilcox. When I got to Dallas, literally, people in City Hall were like, How can we help you?
Wilcox anticipates 60 employees will move with top brass to Texas and they will fill 180-200 jobs with Texans.
Wilcox said other selling points Texas offered included lower costs and a larger aviation infrastructure which exists because of the Dallas-based Southwest Airlines and Fort Worth-based American Airlines.
The boutique charter airline allows travelers to rent a private, small jet. Currently, their daily flights only cover select California cities and Las Vegas, Nevada. JetSuite intends to expand its destinations. The CEO also has high hopes for the other side of their business, JetSuiteX, where individuals can purchase a seat on one of their charter flights to avoid the hassle of larger airports. One-way ticket fares start at $129.
The company plans to grow its consumer reach with a fleet of regional small jets to 100. Wilcox told the Business Journal that JetSuite revenues range between $55 million and $60 million while JetSuiteX accounts for $50 million in earnings.

They’ll celebrate the day when CA equals Venezuela.
That’s about as long as the party will last, for the masses.
Venezuela, heck! Moonbeam and the rest of the bozos in Sack-a-tomatoes are pointing this state in the direction of Zimbabwe.

You’ll know that’s true when they cross the South Africa line ...
Yep. I keep getting calls and emails from headhunters too. I simply will not work anywhere where They cant have my AR-15. Thats a good proxy since practically every place that wants to ban it is an expensive high tax Leftist chithole.

No she moved to north east FL and looked for work when she got here. She wanted out of CA, and yet wants our state to look like the dump she left, and yes she is nuttier than a public bathroom rat.
Yet today she went on how things are done in CA.
That it’s a person that possibly cannot ever be evicted only makes it worse.
It’s like the American Citizens of California are Bill Murray and Loraine Newman in the thing that wouldn’t leave skit, only instead of a boorish friend (played by Belushi) it would be the government and progressives forcing you to take in illegal aliens and/or homeless no matter what your preferences may be.
Hurst, Euless, Bedford or North Richland Hills.
I run into Northeasterners who retire here and bring their leftist politics with them. I want scream, GO HOME!!
When my husband and I lived on Long Island (NY), the Island was reliably red. But as Long Island grew to become the City’s “bedroom” our red area went purple and finally blue.
We retired to Florida and brought our red state politics with us, but the more northern retirees are moving here the more nervous I become.
but the more northern retirees are moving here the more nervous I become.
same here
What makes me crazy is the fact that most move here to take advantage of no state income tax and yet vote for “progressives” who have never seen a tax they haven’t embraced.
As more dems win, I wonder how long it will be before the state income tax issue is re-visited?.
I hear you loud and clear over that.
I have actually said to a young couple a couple of years ago why did they move from Long Island, and they told me the taxes was one of the reasons. When I asked them who are you voting for since coming down here they said Democrats since they have always voted for them.
That is insane, or plain ignorant, or both.
Makes sense if they want to operate out of DFW. But they ought to be talking to Fort Worth instead of Dallas. I can’t see HEB putting the kind of incentives on the table that some of the other suburbs could. And it’s been a while, but I don’t recall much first class offices space in HEB. NRH, either - I think of all of them as bedroom suburbs.
There might be some possibilities on the old Great Southwest International Airport site south of Airport Freeway, but that’s Fort Worth.
Yep...it's all those morons who've moved in from other states.
Yes the taxes are out of control up there and if you are a working class family you don’t get much of what you pay for.
Lots of illegals and lots of welfare now from what I hear and of course the young, know nothing, “Democrats”. I am glad to say that my old district went big for Trump and then elected a Republican Rep. Maybe things are going back to where it once was, I hope so!
I only jokingly say that, since I’m from Houston where we have our share of crazy drivers as well. Maybe it’s just my imagination, but I do seem to get cut-off a lot more often when I’m driving around Dallas.
I’m just happy I live in NE Florida, though like you said I get nervous with the influx of new people
The West Coast around Weeki Wachee is still very red, but who knows for how long?
would not be nervous about the NE retirees as most will be flooded out of the coastal communities due to hurricanes, global warming LOL. the conservative in panhandle and central part of FL should be just fine
