Time for dessert....warm apple
pie and vanilla ice cream, or
maybe cherry, or peach, oh heck.
Have you ever had chokecherry
jam?
We dress in layers too. Today must have been really rough for kids going to school and folks going to work because it was winter this morning and summer this afternoon.
It was already warm by the time I woke up this afternoon. :-)
So sorry for your loss. A tough way to lose your friend. At least he/she is free of pain now and I hope you’re able to find a little comfort in that.
I can sympathize with your missing your Poppa. I go through it on Dad’s birthday too. Miss him every day but that day brings it home a little harder.
I’ve never had chokecherry anything. I’ve never even SEEN a chokecherry.
But cherry or peach sound scrumptious! Without the ice cream. I’m a purist. Don’t like to. mix stuff with my stuff. LOL!
Amen to the shoes thing! But flip-flops? Can’t stand that thing between my toesI LOL! I hardly ever wear shoes unless I have to go somewhere. Otherwise, it’s barefootin’ in the summer [that’s 3 seasons worth here] and fuzzy sox in the winter...24 hours a day of fuzzy sox. :)
LOL! I don’t even notice the thing between the toes, even when I haven’t worn them all winter. Slipped into a pair today and da feets wuz happeh. Still have them on since it isn’t very cold tonight.
No barefootin’ here. Gotta have something on my feet. Flip-flops are as close to barefoot as I get.
Yeah, I’m always a little blue when Poppas birthday rolls around, but I smile a lot, too!
My Dad was very funny and out going, and he could alwys make me laugh.
I will try and get hubby to take another picture of gorgeous Tigermaus, who, at 11 months old weighs 12.5 lbs!
Honestly, he just magnificent!
I’m so glad that you are having some really nice weather to enjoy and I sure do hope it continues. So you can keep wearin’ dem flip-flops!
When I go out before the grass has gotten thick & soft...which it might not do this year...I wear my ugly lime green crocs. MY knows all about those. LOL!
Hey, dere, Sis! How on earth did I miss your post! I can see you being a funky donut! LOL! I know you are definitely an original. One I really like!
I’m so sorry to hear that your friend passed away. :(
Search online...one’s life is not
complete until one experiences the
ambrosia of chokecherry jam.
Off the tree/Bush they taste a
lot like alum. But made into a
jam, unbelievable....
I might have hubby look for it when he goes to the grocery store. Bear in mind that I don’t like gooseberry anything or mango or papaya anything. I’m kind of a picky eater in other words. LOL! But it’s worth a shot, right? :)
*HUG*
Hi dere, Sissy!
Thanks for your sympathy about our friend passing away.
She’s in a much better place now, and no longer suffering.
I hate to post and run, but it’s after 2 am and I must go!
Thanks for a fun thread and for being my Sissy!
G’night and lotsa love!
Me
You probably called him and chatted on his birthday and not getting to do that any more leaves a little hole in the day. That’s what I miss ... those chats and his dry sense of humor.
But one day we’ll both get to see our dads again. :-)
Ooooo, would love to admire Tigermaus again. He’s so handsome. And twice as big as Pixie’s lil girlies. They each finally broke the 6 pound mark.
I need to get new pix of Tigermaus’s harem. It’s been a while, and they’ll be a year old in a couple of weeks. They still look like they’re about 6 months old though. LOL
I was stunned when I took Dexter to the vet today. It’s been ages since he’s been to the vet and the last time, he weighed 17 pounds. Today it was 22.5 pounds! No wonder my back hurts whenever I pick him up!
We’ll have another really nice day tomorrow, then it’s going to cool down again but not drastically. Still cool enough that shoes will be required for a few days.
EEEEWWW! Lime green???? I hope you don’t wear them when trying to get Ghost to come close to you. That color alone is enough to scare him off! LOL
Here's the result I got from this quiz
Finding it in a store (regular
chain) may prove to be difficult,
as chokecherries are typically
a northern zone plant. There are
sites online that one can order
from. It’s the only jam I eat,
as brands like Smuckers can’t
hold a candle to it. YUM!
My grandmother used to make
quarts at a time to last thru
Minnesota winters.
Nite, Sis! Your friend wouldn’t have been the one that we met when Chris was with us?....I can’t remember her name, unfortunately.
It’s always good to see my Sis! (((hugs)))
Um...actually, I do! He does look at them funny. LOL! They do kind of stand out in a crowd. :)
Guess I’d better go. Getting late and I think Peaches is in for the night. He came in when I let Ginger out! Revolving door around here!

I am certainly not trying to
promote one brand over another,
but this is my favorite....
Boom?
