Even when I was sixteen, I thought it would be stupid to allow sixteen-year-old kids to vote.
Thought the age to vote in federal elections was established by the federal government !

They don’t understand why we chose the age limits we chose. And modern psychology says the human brain is not fully developed until around age 25. Until then it is more “emotion” driven.
The reason we have the lunacy in politics we have today is that we lowered the voting age to 18. It should be bumped back up to 21.
It is all part f the communist/democrat/progressive plan to gain and maintain power. Indoctrinate their young minds through government schools so they vote as a group when they get older. It is called learned behavior and is very dangerous to freedom, rugged individualism, and self reliance. Hitler accomplished that with the “Brown Shirts”.

I know the ‘RATS need more freeloader young skulls full of mush votes but 16 year olds don’t pay taxes. They have no “standing” to be able to vote. IMHO. When they enter the real world and start paying taxes, they can vote.
There should be 1 age for majority... for alcohol, voting, military service, firearms purchase, etc.
The arbitrary setting of ages for “adult” rights or privileges is asinine.

We’re talking about DC here. 3 whole electoral votes. 3 whole electoral votes that always go (D) anyway. A city that is so one-sided that the Democratic primary for mayor and city council seats are considered the only competitive campaign....not even sure if they hold a general election in the District (j/k).
While I, too, question the wisdom of allowing 16 year olds to vote, in this case it won’t change anything.
Go back to 21...better idea.

This won’t affect the electoral vote, but could give the Democrats more popular votes - enough to make results like the last presidential election’s more common. That could mean trouble - more bitterness over election results.

The existence of a "DC council" which does anything except advise Congress regarding Congress' EXCLUSIVE authority to legislate IN ALL CASES WHATSOEVER over DC is unconstitutional.
