The true extent of Google's tracking revealed?
It is NOT "just" Google.
Privacy outrage after Google users discover Chrome's built-in anti-virus tool is scanning private files on their computers without telling them
Always remember that Google’s “Do no evil” does not have the word “no” in their internal rules.
I’ve always thought Google it the worst of them. I avoid Google as much as possible.
I used the Chrome browser the other day. After I closed it, I wondered what was eating up my processor capacity and spinning my hard drive. Saw the Google spyware running in the task manager as the culprit, and killed it. I read up on the program, and discovered that Google was trying to read my entire hard drive - including my private files.
At this point, only and idiot would run Chrome or use a Chromebook.
Dont all antivirus programs scan your files? How is this a surprise?
A web browser isn’t an antivirus program.
If an anti virus does not scan all files, it is useless. The question is not is it scanning files, but if it is forwarding information about those files to Google.
ALL anti virus programs scan all files if they are through. I intentionaly set my program to scan not only all files, but the spaces between on my monthly tuneup.

People apparently signed up for Chromes antivirus function. Why are they surprised its looking for virii?
The article is talking about an extension to the browser that is an antivirus program.
Look carefully at the Google Chrome icon. It looks like three sixes arranged around a common axis. Could that possibly be indicative of something?
Read paragraphs 3 and 4 of the article. No longer an extension, it’s part of the base package with no opt-out.
Google and privacy don’t belong in the same sentence. Data mining is their business model.
Yes, though Microsoft is no less evil.
They’ve been sucking up massive amount of data for years now.
Intel processors hopelessly compromised.
Twitter algorithms suppressing conservative views
Facebook harvesting data, not only of its users, but other things on your computer,
and now google chrome doing the same.
Why are all these things, going on for nearly 20 years, being exposed now? Because we no longer have the deep state at the helm our government!
Because our pro-national President Trump wants these things exposed, so that through outrage and legislation, we can either fix them, or break up these entities, or eliminate them through lawsuit.
God bless President Trump. He will go down among the greatest of Presidents.
Duck-Duck-Go
No Google account, no Chrome, no Earth. F no.
Using DuckDuckGo searcher. Sucks that map/gps apps use G.
How many of those “shocked” users actually read the lengthy EULA before they clicked “OK”? Ever read the email when it says “our privacy policies have been updated.”? Unlikely.
Recently saw a new Dr. When filling out the stack of paperwork, there was one sheet in particular that caught my eye. It was a sheet I was to sign, that stated I had received a copy of, and read, their privacy policy and policy on a patient’s personal information. I told the office minion I could not sign that because I had neither received nor read that information. She actually had to dig out a copy for me. It seems that most people will just sign anything you put in front of them.
I don’t get why people are upset over an AV scanner. Its supposed to scan files!
If you don’t like that, don’t get online! The Internet is crawling with nasties.
