Actually all anyone has to do to understand why there is war in Syria is to look at a map.....and it’s neighbors. Location matters. Iran saw this long ago and so did Erdogan.....

Oh, Lord. No way have you even been following the maps, every few weeks, showing who controls what areas, who’s attacking who, etc. For the most part, Assad’s forces have not even been in position to deal with ISIS, and they’ve been much too busy with other rebel groups to do so. ISIS has been on the defense from the US / Kurd alliance, and too busy to worry about Assad, very much. Ergo, a sort of defacto “truce” has gone on in that regard for quite a while.

ISIS and the AQ leaning rebels are similarly “bad” in a number of ways, but to say they are “indistinguishable” is just ignorant. (I’m not responsible if you continue to demonstrate such.) Now, within the AQ leaning group of groups, THAT’s where things get very blurry, alliances constantly shift, etc.

Last, the Kurds with US backing have been the major factor in taking down ISIS. Period.

Deepstate shenanigans? What about use of them against kids last year?

Your post just displays your ignorance and childishness.

The leftists are cheering tonight’s atrocity. They want Assad gone so sharia law can be implemented in Syria. Apparently, so do you.

The leftists are also cheering Trump’s surrender to the neocons and Globalists.

Thanks to us and our so-called “allies”, Syria will become an Islamist State.

Congratulations! Al-Qaeda and ISIS appreciate your support.

Tomahawk missiles fired into Syria by US military targeting:

..... a chemical weapons research center in Damascus
..... a chemical weapons storage facility west of Homs
..... a chemical weapons equipment storage facility.

“Trump isn’t going to lose his base over this anymore than he did when he bombed the same place a year ago.”

Did you not notice something odd that happened to Free Republic last year?

How dozens of posters disappeared and once long and vibrant threads full of active debate between long-term posters with years of posting here suddenly transformed into pages of one or two pages of everyone toeing the same party line? The threads were reduced from 50 posts per page to 20 to cover up the lack of posts, although I note for this thread it has gone back up to 50, what a surprise.

Did you not think that was odd? Where did all those posters disappear to? Could they all have really been secret RINOs all along? Were they all Ted Cruz supporters who for some strange reason stuck with FR long after their candidate dropped out, and in many cases had vocally expressed their support for Trump? Maybe they were just snowflakes, eh? But they sure didn’t seem like that from their years of posting.

That this all happened immediately after the first Syria strike I am sure was entirely a coincidence. Everyone on FR was totally happy with Trump reneging on one of his election promises and the strike lost him no support, none at all, no sir.

We are at war with East Asia, we have always been at war with East Asia. Eurasia is our enemy, Eurasia was always our enemy. Anyone who says different will have a trip to the memory hole.

Has he built that wall yet?

"You have to admit, though, that tonight’s claims that this is going to destroy the entire planet really sets a new level of handwringing."

You're right. It's even funnier than their previous antics. They've quite outdone themselves.

Curious how the intel community knew where all these chemical weapons targets were located, yet stood completely silent not long ago as Obama was crowing about getting Assad to destroy the last of his chemical weapons.

Something stinks.

Gen. Dunford:

Fascinating, if true. Implies pro-Syria/anti-Iran use of "rebels".

So you want to poke Russia in the eye? Over Syria? Insanity.

Get over Crimea already. They voted to reunite with Russia. Why does that affect your life so much?

Frankly, I don’t give a damn about NATO. NATO’s Atrocity against the brave Serbs proved that NATO is a Globalist tool fighting for Islamist terrorists.

As for Israel, they are a strong, powerful country who don’t need us to defend them. I’m American, not Israeli. Let Israel worry about Israel.

Instead of overthrowing a secular leader, we should put troops on our borders and protect OUR country. That is our number one issue. What happened to the Wall?

I can’t believe how many people desire war with Russia. That is stupidity beyond belief.

"Should have redeployed them on Day 1."

It's easy to say that, but maybe he knew something you didn't, and had better advice from someone more qualified.
