This really has nothing to do with our education system. I never about any of this in school. It wasn’t because I got a poor education. It just isn’t a subject that would be covered in any of the history classes we had. It’s not like Auschwitz was in Pennsylvania.
Even here in downtown Dallas, there is a Holocaust Museum.
I had it my history class. A lot on it. But that was decades ago.
It doesn’t matter where on earth brutality and crimes against humanity occur. You did indeed get a poor education and your subsequent callousness is apparent.
It was covered in my History class. The teacher brought in pictures to show. It was the worse pictures I had ever seen in my life, at that time.
I remember those pictures to this day (45 years later).
My father who served in the Phillipines protected his daughters from the sights he saw; but he shared the values he learned from that experience.
This is not directed at you personally.
I think Real History should be taught in our education system.
