Woman testifies Greitens slapped, shoved her; special session to consider impeachment
St. Louis Business Journal ^ | April 11, 2018 | Jacob Kirn

Gov. Eric Greitens' one-time mistress told lawmakers that Greitens, in some of their encounters, slapped her, shoved her and touched her without her consent.

The disclosure came in a House Special Investigative Committee's report, released Wednesday by five Republicans and two Democrats who said they found the woman a credible witness. They also interviewed two confidants of the woman and her ex-husband.

Following the release of the report, House Speaker Todd Richardson said a special session would be called to consider impeachment of the governor. In a press conference, state Democrats called on Greitens to resign.

The woman testified that during a March 20, 2015, visit to Greitens' Central West End home, Greitens convinced her to go to the basement for "some sort of sexy workout." She said Greitens tied her up and blindfolded her, and that she became uncomfortable after Greitens pulled down her pants and kissed her stomach.

"(T)hen I hear him kind of, like, step back – take a step back and I hear – I can hear like a, like a cell phone – like a picture, and I can see a flash through the blindfold," she said, adding that she's not sure whether she ever saw a cell phone on Greitens' person.

According to her account, Greitens then told the woman that, "You're not going to mention my name... because if you do, I'm going to take these pictures, and I'm going to put them everywhere I can."

The woman said when she tried to leave, Greitens grabbed her in a "bear hug" and laid her on the floor. Then he fondled her, and coerced her into a sex act, the woman said. The woman said she returned later in the day to Greitens' home to retrieve keys, and that Greitens told her that he erased the photo because he "felt bad."

Greitens has been charged with felony invasion of privacy related to that incident. A jury trial in St. Louis Circuit Court is scheduled for next month. He has denied blackmailing the woman.

During another encounter, in June 2015, the woman said Greitens slapped her after she told him that she had slept with her husband.

Weeks later, the woman said Greitens "kind of smacked me and grabbed me and shoved me down on the ground" after engaging in a sex act.

Earlier in their relationship, at a salon where the woman worked, Greitens moved his hand up her leg and "all the way up to her crotch" without her consent, the woman testified.

Confused? Drunk, drugged, or just can't remember what she said last time?

Are you sure about that ?
She testified under oath that she may have dreamed this episode.

She already said she may have dreamed the photo session. I’m so sick of this sh*t. I’m more upset with the folks who believe these publicity whores.

The return visit and the dream recollection sinks this accusation.
I wonder if it’s possible for a Republican politician to get a fair trial in St. Louis...

What is the possibility that the governor is a political double agent, switching parties in order to become a GOP governor in order to make the GOP look bad and strengthen the Dems’ hold on the state?

Her ex-husband seems to be pushing this story. (Bizarre as it might seem.)
What's his background ?

Had to look up Gov. Eric Greitens to verify party affiliation.

He is a Republican, which is surprising because the article did not mention it.

However, he changed parties in 2015. That’s right, he was a Democrat all the way through the first 7 years of Obama.

This is what Democrats do. When they can’t win because an area leans red, they just switch parties. Of course they don’t switch ideologies, just parties.

The Democrat party has also driven off any moderates. It has effectively diluted the Republican party to the point of almost no conservative representation.

This governor is hardly a Democrat.
His support of right to work is telling.

My wife always gets fairly cranked when I decide to run for Governor and blindfold, de-pants and photograph a adulterous mistress while her hands are tied and she is suspended from my wife’s home’s basement ceiling joists.

She is really intolerant like that.

The Governor has been charged with a felony. While I don’t know that he committed one and should be convicted, I see not reason he should continue to serve as Governor since he has admitted the basic facts of his relationship. We have a properly elected Lt. Governor, impeach Greitens.

Have you visited Greitens’ St. Louis basement ?

There are too many holes in the woman’s story to completely accept it.

Why is the hooker’s ex-husband running the accusation ?

“This governor is hardly a Democrat. His support of right to work is telling.”

I also read he was a Navy Seal. That’s a plus. This is not a story I’ve been following, so I’m not really sure what to make of it.

Personally, I felt the accusations against Roy More were totally fabricated.

So I certainly don’t mean to write the guy off without hearing his side of the story. But being a Democrat in 2015 raises major red flags for me.

On the other hand, people do change. Trump was a Democrat before also. He may not be ideologically conservative, but he has certainly behaved as a pragmatic one on many, many issues.

That is true. There a many who leave the demorat party because they woke up. Which would make him more of a target.

I am sure the ex-husband is not more sound than his wife. I don’t doubt that media and the woman are hyping this for various reasons but it was my understanding that the Governor has admitted to the 2015 infidelity. I have no desire to see my party defend sleezeballs just because they are our sleezeballs.

If I am incorrect and he has made no admission to the affair then I stand corrected,

Is switching parties a crime ?

No, but it could be a way to sabotage the party one is switching to, if the purpose of the switch is to then allow oneself to be of impeachable character.

She must have watched Pulp Fiction and changed her mind about the encounter.

I don’t believe a word of it. This was 100% consensual...until it wasn’t, for political purposes.

If I heard Greitens correctly this evening (news report w/ him speaking), he says it was a several month long consensual affair.

I have not been able to follow every detail of this sordid tale, but from what does seem to be clear, everybody involved should just slink back to the bottom of the septic tank from whence they arose, hopefully to never be seen or heard of again...
