It would be FAR more conservative, with a number of moderate-liberal republicans gone, and more Trump republicans elected.

I don’t see any “choir Boy” still remaining in the Republican party that would replace Ryan or Boehner. Should the Repubs fail to surface one,, demodummies will take over and it’s down hill from there for all of us.

Well here’s a likely scenario: Paul Nehlen who only was able to draw 15% of the primary votes away from Ryan - will run for his seat now, claiming “I’m the most conservative!” while pounding his chest. And because he has zero appeal to any but the most conservative voters he will lose to a RINO they’re drum up from somewhere whose main qualification will be “I’m not Paul Nehlen”. So the Republican base in CD1 will yawn and mostly stay home, but the RINO will win and then the WI Democrat party will put every dime they have into getting an attractive “moderate” Democrat elected.
Doubt it? Look only to the past few elections...

Paul Ryan has collected $54 million in donations for 2018. If the GOPe chooses not to fight for his district that is on them and not the base.

I wish they had been there for us since Nov 2016 - it is sad what they have let slip thorough their hands. If they had acted conservative, they could of held govt for 8 years.
I think Scalise has a better chance. A republican speaker from California will not sit well.
I just remembered Trey Gowdy is a committee chairman. While Nunes is preparing to hold DOJ in contempt of Congress today, Gowdy is preparing to bloviate on The View TV program. Somehow, I don’t think more Trey Gowdy’s is going to change anything in the beltway, unfortunately. We need more MAGA fighters and not more beltway actors like pinhead Gowdy.

All Nunes can do is refer DOJ officials to the whole House for a majority vote on whether to hold someone in contempt. If there is a majority vote for contempt, it’s referred to the DOJ for possible prosecution as a misdemeanor.
Keep in mind that the Republicans elected Ryan. The Congressmen may talk a lot about supporting conservatism, but the reality is that most really support the Uniparty and the people who give them money.
