Moscow will shoot down any U.S. missiles fired at Syria and retaliate against American launch sites, the Russian ambassador to Lebanon has warned.
Ambassador Alexander Zasypkin made the comments on Tuesday while speaking on the Hezbollah-affiliated al-Manar TV channel, Reuters reported.
President Donald Trump is currently considering military action against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad following Saturdays suspected chemical attack on the rebel-held town of Douma near the capital city of Damascus. Medical relief groups say the attack killed dozens of civilians.

but if WE can wonder about that, dont you think Trump will, too?
That’s a good point too
We're there as an extension to Obama and Clinton's 'Arab Spring'...They destroyed Tunisia, Libya, and almost got away with destroying Egypt...After they wrecked Libya, they moved tons of stinger missiles and other arms to Al Qaeda in Syria to take out that somewhat stable gov't...So now, we're backing Al Qaeda to defeat Syria...
Does that include ships at sea?
If so, that will be the start of WW3
Baltic Republics have very little military capability although they are members of NATO and Putin has reminded them of that.
Kaliningrad is unconnected to the rest of Russia thanks to them and would make the Russian map look pretty for their media.
Lack of military capability didn't stop Putin going into his Ukraine and Syria quagmires.
“Can we confine the conflict to that theater?”
That’s impossible.
Somebody will take losses and seek revenge, or to prevent strategic advantage.
If Russia and US forces engage directly, it inexorably goes nuke. And strategic.
I have absolutely no problem with the Russians nuking DC, as long as Congress is in full session and Trump is elsewhere.
Trumps mistake is he has waited too long and those vodka addled retards in Moscow are finally getting around to playing hardball.
Yes...indeed.
I know! Let’s bomb Mexico instead....
If they work...
Every once in a while, Russia puts on a Potemkin village show with an ICBM and shoots one off claiming it has a hundred MIRV's and can hyperjump to Alpha Centauri with more funding.
Apparently, the Russians have stated they will target any Asset or Platform that launches any missile at Syria's Territory or Military, that would include ships at sea.
Please! Complete the Wall first.
This may be important or not: the actual wording used by the Russian was "launching facilities" and did not exclude other targets. Nothing in the Russian messages indicated that they will seek out specifically the platforms used in launching, any platform capable of launching or assisting it is a fair target.
They know better.
They’ll be destroyed in detail.
And they might lose the Crimean bases.
Putin is stupid, but he is not an idiot.
During and just after WWII many doubted the stories about the gassing of Jews until our troops walked into the camps and found the remains.
Assad is an evil man, but hes not stupid.
Many here would like to think that Assad and others in the ME think and reason like westerners. They mostly do not. That is why most peaceniks here do not get what its like living as an Israeli surrounded by Arabs and why they don't get along. Arabs think of non-Arabs as animals, and think no less of killing them than animals. They have the same respect of life for each other.
Oddly enough, Assad is an MD (Opthalmology) and educated in London.
I didn't make it clear but I would assume that the Russians would target anything that would support a missile launching asset, except hospital ships/facilities.
Yes, this is my reading too. In fact, I’d guess that the targets were selected long time ago, they may be only updating the lists.
Make our day, you effing communist thug. And tell your KGB reprobate “president” that he can go piss up a red rope.
You degenerate mongoloid MoFos have played this duplicitous game long enough. Perhaps you’d like a nuke shoved up your filthy commie a$$?
“So do the Russians. So what.”
Doubt that.
They shot down more than half of our missiles the the last session.
