They sure do! The last post I had before checking, I cringed thinking that I might have gotten it! I was relieved to see I didn’t. LOL!
It sure sounds like it’s going to be wicked this year. Those are wide swings you’re getting.
I hope Piper will be ok too. She seems to have the same issue as Murphy did a couple of weeks ago. Everything points to pancreatitis. I just pray she doesn’t have whatever else Murphy had going on because I do NOT want a repeat of that ordeal. We don’t know what killed him.
We have a few like Peaches - - hard to get into the carrier. I feel your pain when it’s time for you to take him in for his shots.
I gather his booboo from fighting with Ghost the other night is ok?
Heavy techno is the best way I can describe it.
Oh, I hope she will be ok. Maybe she’s not as sick as Murphy was. Sure hope not anyway.
I have put antibiotic cream on his boo-boo and I’ve been watching it closely and so far, all is ok. whew! I’m curious if he’ll get the strange sores on his nose this summer as he has in the past. I think the cat is allergic to the sun! And he’s not even out that much!
Ahhh...who wouldn’t rather be on a beach! Rock on, Megs! :)
She’s had spells of vomiting like Murphy did but there were a few days between the spells. She’s still young enough I wasn’t too concerned about kidney failure and I knew it wasn’t her liver. No jaundice. He ran a CBP on her to check out everything and the numbers regarding pancreas functions were the ones out of whack.
Murphy had something else going on as well as pancreatitis. Something broke loose inside because he had internal bleeding. Just don’t know what it was. I really don’t expect a repeat with Piper but I’m still keeping an eye on her tonight.
Glad to hear Peaches’ booboo hasn’t gotten infected. That’s a nice change, isn’t it?
It’ll be nice if he can get through this summer without the nose sores too.
I hope that she has a better, stronger immune system than poor Murphy did since she’s younger than he was.
I was very relieved that his injuries didn’t get infected. I’m still watching, though not medicating now. Don’t want to miss something!
Up until last fall, Murphy was a healthy lil feller. He had a pancreatitis attack in October and was fine until the second attack last month. That’s why it was such a shock when he died so suddenly.
I wish his sister, Jade, was so lucky. She’s the one with chronic head funk and it’s cranked up these days due to all the pollen in the air. She’s in the bathroom with the vaporizer right now, getting her head opened up. Poor baby’s a mouth-breather and was snoring badly. She snores loud! LOL
Piper should be fine. She’s been pretty healthy all her life. Her only problem up til now has been an occasional bad tooth.
It sounds like you got the cream on his sore quickly enough infection didn’t get to set in. With luck it’s healed enough now it won’t be a problem.
With all the kittehs you have, they are very healthy. The average would say that more of them would have things go wrong more often, especially since most of them had bad starts in life. They are lucky to have you as their “mom”! :)
We’ve had some that were sick fairly often, or had something come up that required prolonged treatment. Churchill was on medication for IBD for several years but it worked very well. Just cost a bit of $$ every time I had to refill his prescriptions.
We’ve had a few others with IBD, too, but they’re all gone now.
Pandy, our Persian, has a heart mumrmur but is on a med for that and it works well. We haven’t had to adjust the dosage once. Fortunately, her med is inexpensive.
We’ve had our share of health issues but most of the cats have been blessed with good health. I do what I can to keep them all as healthy as possible but it’s a chore with so many. LOL
I don’t know how you keep up with so many. It takes a keen eye to know when a cat is feeling poorly. I would be overwhelmed with more than the 2+1 that I have now.
And Ghost’s ears are looking awful again. He just gets them looking like they’re well and then I don’t know what happens, but they look like they’ve been chewed. poor ol’ thing! And all I can do is give him a bit of food twice a day.
Howdy, Sis! ((((hugs)))
Hard rock, huh? I would have guessed you to be a bit more moderate. LOL! But hard rock is cool!
Howdy there, MS.B!
How are things up your way, other than cold?
Bet y’all are more than ready for some springtime temps.
It’s just a matter of paying attention. Appetite-drop is one indicator that something’s off. If for a day or two, no biggie but any more than that, time for a trip to the vet.
They get hot to the touch like we do if there’s a fever so that’s an easy one. Acting droopy is another easy one.
Having an idea what the problem could be is the hard part but we’ve been through so many of the cat ailments over the years, I’m pretty good at having an idea what’s wrong and that helps the vet know what to check out. Gives a good starting point at least.
I wonder if Ghost has ear mites and is scratching his ears til they’re torn up. It’s a possibility with him being outside. Or he could just be fighting with another cat in the neighborhood and getting them gnawed on. Poor lil guy. It can’t feel good.
Moderate?
ME?
*evil grin*
Howdy there, ‘Du!
It’s spring in Maine. bare lawn in some spots.
Snow two feet deep in others!
Folks are wearing parkas and shorts!
Gotta love it!
Heehee! I knew that would get a rise out of ya! ;)
It looks miserable. I never see him scratching his ears, but I suppose it could be ear mites. I just wish there was something I could do.
If I even act like I might reach out to him, I can literally see him getting a paw tensed, ready to strike. He truly has 0 trust in any human! Poor guy!
Parkas and shorts? They do that up there too? I’ve seen it here in the dead of winter and all I can think is, “That person is NUTS!” LOL
It LOOKS like spring around here but it doesn’t feel like it very often. We get a warm day here and there but it’s been chilly or downright cold too often.
