The F.B.I. on Monday raided the office of President Trumps longtime personal lawyer, Michael D. Cohen, seizing records related to several topics including payments to a pornographic-film actress. Federal prosecutors in Manhattan obtained the search warrant after receiving a referral from the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, according to Mr. Cohens lawyer, who called the search completely inappropriate and unnecessary. The search does not appear to be directly related to Mr. Muellers investigation, but likely resulted from information he had uncovered and gave to prosecutors in New York. Today the U.S. Attorneys Office for the Southern District of New York executed a series of search warrants and seized the privileged communications between my client, Michael Cohen, and his clients, said Stephen Ryan, his lawyer. I have been advised by federal prosecutors that the New York action is, in part, a referral by the Office of Special Counsel, Robert Mueller. Mr. Cohen plays a role in aspects of the special counsels investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. He also recently said he paid $130,000 to a pornographic-film actress, Stephanie Clifford, who said she had an affair with Mr. Trump. Ms. Clifford is known as Stormy Daniels. Mr. Ryan said Mr. Cohen has cooperated with authorities and turned over thousands of documents to congressional investigators looking into Russian election meddling. The payments to Ms. Clifford are only one of many topics being investigated, according to a person briefed on the search. The F.B.I. also seized emails, tax documents and business records, the person said.

It’s probably not that unusual among the upper middle class for one’s personal attorney to transfer $130,000 or some other trivial amount of petty cash to another party and forget to mention it to their client.
Well if the US were like Iraq or NK as you suggest then we would have never elected Donald Trump as President. And we will have Trump as President for at least another three years. They can raid offices all they want but Trump is going nowhere.
Really now, Why are you threatening to be ‘done’? That is the same as saying you want a Hillary, Rubio, Bush, or McCain leader.
Everyone, I mean EVERYONE KNOWS Congress members have been daring President Trump to fire Mueller so they can pounce on impeachment for obstruction of justice. A great deal of Republicans in Congress said that much.
Nixon won election in 1968 by appealing to the "silent majority" in a year of total chaos, that many said felt like the precursor to Revolution. And there were, in fact, many leftist groups calling for Revolution at the time.
1968, the year of Nixon's first Presidential election victory over Hubert Humphrey had these components:
IN 1968 Nixon presented himself as the candidate of Stability, and it turned out that's what a lot of voters wanted. The alternative seemed to be turning the country over to a party that was itself a big part of the problem.
The Democrats chances were also harmed by the 3rd party run of Segregationist George Wallace, who won 5 states in the South. (The last 3rd party candidate to win electoral votes).
By 1972 things had calmed down a lot, and while it wasn't a perfect utopia, Nixon had largely delivered the stability he promised.
In 1972 he ran on "continue the good stuff" campaign, and people by and large bought it.
It no doubt helped him that McGovern was an unattractive
In the end it was a total blow-out. Nixon won 520 Electoral Votes.
I'm amazed that someone from the Class of '98 will lay down for the lawless thugs in Washington.
I learned something different than your doormat imitation in my 20 years here.
Did you vote for Hillary, or something?
Is that why you're OK with "pretend elections"?
No the law is serious business. Break one and see what happens. :-)
They don’t want Stormy’s records, they’re looking for something to get at Trump. Just wait. It’ll come out what they’re really after.
With unaccountable secret ex parte courts.
Including the "pretend elections"...
Mueller is well into witch hunt territory. He should be fired.. TODAY! Additionally, Trump should summarily pardon everyone under indictment to completely clear the decks.
Screw the politics; likely the House is gone in November anyway, so there’s very little to lose. FIRE THEM!!!
Trump has capitulated to the deep state. Look how he hired Bolton. The deep state wants war. They’re keeping the pressure on, to make sure Trump “stays bought”
Regardless- the feds take a hell of a risk by doing this. They were incredibly deferential to Mrs. Clinton’s multiple attorney-client privilege claims.
This profoundly disturbing. I can’t imagine a judge signing off on such a huge number of documents.
That’s a shame, because I’m a hell of a Warrior. I said if he doesn’t fight back. Would you follow a Leader into combat who would lead from the rear?
More likely an intimate candlelight dinner for two in a little private niche just off the DOJ executive dining room.
Sessions: Rod, you’re a genius for appointing Mueller.
Rosenstein: No, *you’re* the genius, for recusing behind Trump’s back. He never saw it coming!
They raise champagne glasses and toast each other, while grinning stupidly.
Then the sniveling, conniving, virtue signalling Republicans sold Nixon down the river.
Because at some point, you have to call the bastards on their bluff. Otherwise this will keep going and going.
Look up the judge. Sessions appointed him. What famous case was he involved in? Iran Contra. So, you tell me if you believe like I do that justice for all is a long gone conclusion.
Go get yourself a beer and have a good cry. You will get over it.
Yes ... despite what the mystic oracle kiryandil spouts there will indeed continue to be elections in this country. Life will go on despite all the offices the deep state raids.
Obstruction bait thats all this is.
There needs to be a way for an armed raid of Mueller’s office and team with all their documents confiscated along with the same treatment for Rosenstein and Sessions. Don’t know the rationale, but using the military and military investigative services after declaring the SC a threat to national security would be a start.
