Facebooks second in command Sheryl Sandberg said Friday that users wanting to opt out of having their data used by advertisers will have to pay for that assurance.
The comments came in the wake of revelations that the personal information of 87 million users had been inappropriately used by the data firm Cambridge Analytica in the 2016 election campaign, the New York Post reported.

LOL. thats a pretty interesting website.
Hate Facebook but it’s whole business model is advertising exposure.....FR has no advertisers and maintains our privacy - because of that we (some of us anyway) pay for the maintenance of and access to the site.
Facebook should be paying us, the users, to use our data.
I've never had a Facebook account, nor joined Twitter or any other site except FR. When I tell people that, they tell me the only reason they belong to Facebook is to keep in touch with family. Uhh. What's wrong with a phone call or a letter? People are just lazy. I have a very small family, and an even smaller set of friends. No siblings of mine remain. If I want to know what's going on with my cousins or my brother's widow, and their family...I call them. My two sons and I communicate by phone or email...and we visit occasionally. One lives 2 hours away, and the other lives in Indiana.
Me also, never joined any of them, never will. People would tell me about seeing pictures of family on Facebook, and I’m thinking I’ve been emailing pictures to family and friends for a decade, texting them too.
Exactly so.

The best privacy is to never get a FB.
