Nevada’s GOP governor has come out against President Trump’s plan to send the National Guard to the U.S.-Mexico border.
A spokeswoman for Gov. Brian Sandoval said in an email to the Associated Press Friday that Sandoval doesn’t believe deploying members to the border would be “an appropriate use” of the National Guard.
Defense Secretary James Mattis signed a memo Friday authorizing the National Guard to deploy up to 4,000 troops to the border.
Trump had announced last week that the military would send troops to defend the southern border until his border wall was completed. The White House later clarified that the National Guard would be sent to the border.
Arizona and Texas have both stated that they will send troops to the border starting this weekend.
Oregon Gov. Kate Brown (D) vowed Thursday to reject the request to send National Guard troops to the border.
And our youths can’t find work...?
Yes, I know thousands of Californians are leaving, but I thought they were heading to Arizona and Texas.
BTW, do you remember a nightclub in the old Harold's building called American Bandstand back in the late 90's? It was on Virginia and E.Commerce Row before Harrahs razed the property, which is now a plaza.
I wish the president would sent active duty military units, especially the Marines.
Send tens of thousands of Marines and active duty Army personnel to the border.

It’s about time the existing law punishing employers is enforced! I hadn’t thought of additional charges related to not paying payroll taxes - that’s great ALL possible charges are being considered. It’s about time!

They weren’t nationalized, it’s a voluntary call-up subject to each states’ Governors approval...
Doesn’t matter if your state shares a border with Mexico, it’s common interest.....

And the employers of the guardsmen are not to keen about holding the job open so the guardsman can be trumps political pawn.
That is good news... Maybe some of those black market (?) jobs will start drying up and Americans will be able to find a job at a decent wage...
The southern border is about 1/2 half of the illegal entries.
The remaining 1/2 come in from the Pacific coast. What do we
do about those?

Article IV Section 4 of the US Constitution obligates the Federal Government to repel invasions.
That’s not “law enforcement”.
Trump is not going to pay them and these state govts don’t want to pay them and they are not gonna work for free.
I don’t think it’s referred to as the Nevada Guard...The word “National” has a definite meaning...
