Several weeks after taking the helm of the Environmental Protection Agency, Administrator Scott Pruitt was running late and stuck in Washington, D.C., traffic. Sources tell CBS News that he wanted to use his vehicle's lights and sirens to get to his official appointment, but the lead agent in charge of his security detail advised him that sirens were to be used only in emergencies.
Less than two weeks later that agent was removed from Pruitt's detail, reassigned to a new job within the EPA.
Special Agent Eric Weese, a 16-year veteran of the EPA, was replaced by Pasquale "Nino" Perotta. Perrotta now leads Pruitt's unprecedented 24-hour Protective Service Detail.
Pruitt's lavish travel, which totals more than $182,000, according to the Environmental Integrity Project, has included first class domestic and international flights for him and his security detail, private charters and a military jet.
In a statement, EPA chief of staff Ryan Jackson told CBS News, "We have no knowledge of anyone being removed from the detail for not using lights and sirens." Asked why Weese was removed, an EPA spokesman said "We do not comment on personnel matters within EPA's protective service detail."
Recently however, two Democratic senators wrote a letter to the EPA asking, "Under what circumstances did the prior Special Agent in Charge leave?"

I would ask the driver every day if I had a car equipped with sirens.
If he was in a hurry to get back to his office so he can continue defanging the EPA, by all means. Use the sirens.
Good. Sirens should only be used for emergencies. And there is no such thing as an emergency situation as it relates to the job of a bureaucrat at the EPA - even the guy in charge.

The President needs to come to Pruitt’s aid and Pruitt needs to stay strong especially the likes of ED HENRY who sounded like JIM ACOSTA on an interview that I heard on Rush today. When are the interviewees going to start telling these interviewers to shut up so they can answer the questions they’ve been asked. I do not like Ed Henry, haven’t liked him for awhile. I don’t like blitz interviews!!!!
The sirens need to be yanked from the vehicle (if they exist).

If the EPA director needs a SS detail to protect his life I think that the EPA has become way to powerful and needs to be abolished.
When I was younger, a friend of mine slipped and broke his leg one winter day. After lying on the driveway for almost an hour, a neighbor noticed and called an ambulance. On the way the hospital, he told the EMT something was wrong. He said there were no lights and sirens and he’d waited 18 years for lights and sirens.
He got lights and sirens.
In Pruitt’s case, it was probably a joke.
He was likely in a SS pool vehicle, all of which are likely equipped.
Scott Pruitt is taking the envirowhacko sacred cows and blowing them up. His life is certainly in danger.
He’s trying to greatly shrink the overwhelming scope and size of the EPA, a truly rogue agency under Obama.
He most certainly needs protection.
