I DO appreciate what teachers go through these days. Bu tI have been waiting for someone to point out that they only work 9 months of the year. And get every school break in those nine months, too. Flame away, Freeper teachers.
Not me. I agree with you.
Based on the 31,000 average STARTING pay in OK and 180 days of required days in school, the STARTING pay is $172.22 per day. Assuming an 8 hr day, STARTING pay is 21.53 per hour.
Based on 52 weeks, STARTING pay is $596.15 per week or 14.90 per hour (40 hr week).
I thought those who are advocating for a minimum wage of $15.00 because people need a living wage would be happy since the STARTING pay is pretty close to it based on 52 week basis.
OK has taken taxes from home owners to pay for schools, where did that money go?
OK passed the lottery with the promise most would go to the schools, where did that money go?
OK has passed many school funding bills over the years, where did that money go?
OK schools get federal grants, where did that money go?
Instead of buying each student a laptop computer, maybe the money should be used to build more classrooms with desks. Pencil and paper were fine back in my day.
Every single teacher could be the best thing since sliced bread.
But they are STILL unaffordable. Not their salaries, though those are bad enough.
But their pensions and health bennies cannot be afforded by taxpayers.
Not only do they only work 9 months out of the year, they only work part-time for that 9 months!
Most work about 5 hours a day, that’s it!
we’ve been indoctrinated to believe that teachers somehow are poorly paid...they are not....
‘I DO appreciate what teachers go through these days.’
I appreciate their issues with students who disrupt the classrooms; these monsters have ruined, and continue to do so, the educational possibilities for generations...other than that, which is admittedly huge, it is a job to die for...
