With stories appearing every few weeks about people getting closer to living forever, plus an evil tyranny waiting to take over the globe, how can people not believe in Hell?
Not existing anymore is pretty frightening, but people will be begging for it someday.

Maybe the “reporters” are putting words in his mouth.(Most likely done deliberately to discourage the flock.) Maybe something was lost in translation. Hard to trust reporters trying to explain science or religion.
Interesting since the Apostles’ Creed said during Mass includes HE ‘... was crucified, died, and was buried. HE descended into hell; the third day HE rose again from the dead. HE ascended into heaven....’
Must say, don’t recall the ‘descended into hell’ language being in the prayer when I was a child (eons ago)
