Years ago it was common to see articles speculating about the changes we would see in our society and culture as modern technology and machinery relieved people of drudgery and afforded them more free time.
Most of the ideas had to do with leisure, entertainment and constructive activities - more hobbies, travel, vacation, charitable work, etc.
But now we know the ugly truth.
They meddle in the lives of others, become whining pickers of nits, stir up troubles where non existed before, and become destructive instead of constructive.
