After days of speculation, it has been confirmed that North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un has visited China.
Rumours circulated earlier this week after local media reported a high-profile figure had arrived on a special train.
The visit, confirmed by China and North Korea, was Mr Kim's first foreign trip since taking office in 2011.
Mr Kim held "successful talks" with the Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Beijing, Xinhua reports.
The visit is considered a significant step in North Korea's preparation for talks agreed in principle with South Korea and the United States.

Bump
This is Chinas response to the tarrif’s.
Reunification would cost South Korea hundreds of billions of dollars and integrating disparate economies, political systems and militaries is a tall order.
It makes the German reunification look like a Sunday walk in the park.
Not Necessarily Grasshopper...
Kim can still keep dozens of operational nukes and all ICBM's. China would fully back him up in this process.
This is one possible scenario.
Here we have the solution to Xi’s millions of single soldiers... marrying NK girls. We can now debit every dime appropriated to defense in our defense budget against NZ, they are back under China’s umbrella now.
Interesting. Note who is wearing the Mao costume while the other has come of age, at least as far as clothing.
That, and SK don’t WANT the Norks in their world.
Art of the Deal.
Wow, sister. Take a look at the huge wok the Chinese have made. Let's take it home to Korea and use it for our next barbeque. Why it'll fatten up a small people's brigade in one sitting! |
South Korea can’t afford unification. 100 times more expensive than West and East Germany.
Next Kim is going to Disney World!
‘China wants the lead’ so Xi can be the hero of the hour.... which is why this trip to China first...then Fatboy to S.Korea... and lastly visit with Trump...
I don’t know.
South Korea’s population is 51,000,000
North Korea’s population is 25,000,000
I think Korea would be a very good target, for reunification.
Actally no....Kim wants International recognition and he got the full welcome treatment with China...expect S. Korea to do similar I suspect. For Asian it’s all about saving face thus the welcoming receptions.
I expect this was one of Kims conditions.
None of the photos I’ve seen do any look happy....I doubt any have enjoyed rolling out the red carpet for FatBoy but likely his condition to work with China to save face among his people to ‘Look like” he was greatly honored”.....he doesn’t care what the rest of the world thinks as long as he can continue to “look like” a great leader to his own.
Fat Boy will still retain power.....and continue to “look like’ he wants unification to his people. Everything about this trip is for Fat Boy to show his people the great reception he got as a leader..just more of the same propaganda photos to use to keep the people believing the lie and twisting the mind of his people.
Oh! PP
Really ought to wok you one. It’s obvious just by looking at Little Kim’s face, he has already eaten and not feeling well. My Lord, he’s contagious. They’ve all eaten the fish!
NK is certainly in need of a clown. Too bad Bozo died. He could have traveled over and made good money in giving hem lessons on how to smile on occasion.
I think, for NK, they want to exploit conflict between U.S. and China which is on-going on many issues, getting the best deal out of it.
However, NK may be asked to give up more than it is willing to. That could be a major sticking point.
Xi and Kim did not look upbeat while together. Kim stayed only a day in Beijing. It could be an indication that things did not go smoothly. On the other hand, Kim could have been mindful of what would happen if he is away from Pyongyang for too long.
