John Bolton turned up on Fox about an hour before I did last night, and professed to be surprised by the sudden Tweeting of his appointment as US National Security Advisor. The Beltway insiders allege that it was rushed out to distract from Trump's cave-in on the 2,232-page Schumer-Pelosi Early-Christmas-For-Big-Bloated-Budget-Busting-Bureaucracy Bill that not a single person on this planet has actually read. Oh, and don't give me that "increased funding for our troops" straw-clutching: every sentient creature from the earthworm up knows that the extra dough's just going to go to diversity programs and gender reassignment surgery as opposed to anything that might increase the odds of actually winning the next 17-year war.
At this stage the Gullible Old Pussies of the Republican Party are pretty much openly advertising that giving them control of the House, the Senate and the White House is the equivalent of giving Yosemite Sam three sticks of dynamite to shove down his pants - with the additional nicety that this time round they're actively flipping the finger at their president's bedrock issue. I reiterate the point I first made on the radio a year ago: On January 20th 2017 Trump should have taken all those showboating showbiz no-shows at face value and held a businesslike inauguration at the southern border while laying the first brick. The brick remains unlaid - not because Vicente Fox refuses to "pay for Trump's f**kin' wall" but because Paul Ryan does.

I agree, these kids should take a deep breath and relax. Although this back and forth has been very entertaining. By the way, I really like Bolton. Uh oh, incoming.
I never said Bolton is not a neocon. What I really said is that Trump will always make all important decisions himself.
If you think otherwise, please show which subordinate has prevailed and forced Trump to go against his campaign promises.
Are you nuts? You actually think trump is doing what he said in the campaign. Im sorry buddy.
Sure, if we're talking about the IT guy or the Accouting head at XYZ Corp, I agree. But we're talking about positions like National Security Advisor and Secretary of State. If they're only getting 2-hour interviews....ouch.
I mean, even "Trump people" like Bannon, Lewandowski, Scaramuci and Omarosa are getting the boot after a few months. Maybe it's deserved (or maybe not), but you can't run the White House effectively with all this turnover.
I’m not seeing many of those promises come to fruition. Still no wall, Obamacare bailouts still in place. We have tax cuts and some deregulation. That’s great, but it’s not enough.
You are spot on! You have good insight on China. I think China is setting up both Iran and North Korea as proxies. These two nations will do China’s dirty work while they sit back and try to fetter America economically.
Except for the gender reassignment in the miltary. That was squashed (again) today.
I assure you he will attack Syria
Bolton is smart and he is realistic: http://triblive.com/opinion/featuredcommentary/9597778-74/assad-obama-tehran He will not propose attacking Syria, nor does he get to decide.
There are numerous active trolls on several threads seeking to stir dissent among the faithful. Time again for a FR purge of the Debbie Downers.
Bolton was right, when he said, “International law does not trump the US Constitution.” Steyn was and is wrong. With the balance of that article behind the link, Steyn revealed himself to be a globalist European.
——I assure you he will attack Syria-——
Wow....when did Bolton become CINC ?
It must be a secret only you know...
You need to educate yourself on what the Article II requirements for POTUS are as far as to the quality of their citizenship.
In summary....Born in country to parents who are it’s citizens. Convergence of soil and bloodline.....jus soli and jus sanguins. In any country a vast majority of it’s citizens will be NBCs.
Bolton was rejected initially for all the right reasons but trump is such a squirrell he forgot what they were. Bolton is a clown.
Alright. So Steyn wrote a positive piece about Bolton, but it was hard to tell with the lack of any clear thesis early in the article.
I have to admit, the recent changes give the appearance that Trump is assembling a sort of “war cabinet” - legal war against the Mueller machine and possibly kinetic NK or Iran or both.
But that doesn’t mean he will go to war with NK or Iran. To succeed in tough diplomacy the other side has to believe that you have the will and capability to change their position. The reason NK has not yet caved is largely because all the evidence tells them they will be rewarded for resisting, and will lose if they compromise. Iran and Pakistan both resisted pressure from the US and have been paid handsomely for it. On the other hand states like Libya who agreed to give up their nuclear programs ended up invaded and overthrown.
Trump is taking a different tactic from previous Presidents. He is being insistent. So I admit the perceptions are there - but it doesn’t mean we are going to go all the way.
You may be right, I don’t agree with you but you never explained how Bolton is going go to attack Syria...
Those are your words....
Look up recording of Hannity’s TV show today. He had a big board Listing all of Trump’s accomplishments in 14 months. It was a pretty big board, and there were 100+ items.
Very good post.
