John Bolton turned up on Fox about an hour before I did last night, and professed to be surprised by the sudden Tweeting of his appointment as US National Security Advisor. The Beltway insiders allege that it was rushed out to distract from Trump's cave-in on the 2,232-page Schumer-Pelosi Early-Christmas-For-Big-Bloated-Budget-Busting-Bureaucracy Bill that not a single person on this planet has actually read. Oh, and don't give me that "increased funding for our troops" straw-clutching: every sentient creature from the earthworm up knows that the extra dough's just going to go to diversity programs and gender reassignment surgery as opposed to anything that might increase the odds of actually winning the next 17-year war.
At this stage the Gullible Old Pussies of the Republican Party are pretty much openly advertising that giving them control of the House, the Senate and the White House is the equivalent of giving Yosemite Sam three sticks of dynamite to shove down his pants - with the additional nicety that this time round they're actively flipping the finger at their president's bedrock issue. I reiterate the point I first made on the radio a year ago: On January 20th 2017 Trump should have taken all those showboating showbiz no-shows at face value and held a businesslike inauguration at the southern border while laying the first brick. The brick remains unlaid - not because Vicente Fox refuses to "pay for Trump's f**kin' wall" but because Paul Ryan does.

You appeasers never understood, Peace through Strength.
You know that is interesting. Kim UN threatened this country squarely. Trump lied and said not to do that again and it would be met with “Fury and fire” the world had never seen. At 5 oclock Eastern time that same day UN threatened us again. Trump lied , as usual , and caved. Now the dumb ass has been suckered into a meeting while UN prepares to strike and kill million of Americans. Just another example of the pussie liar.
Hey, did you know that there is a place on Lake George called “Bolton’s Landing?”
Mark Steyn - just brilliant!
“while UN prepares to strike and kill million of Americans.”
lmao - Care to expound on your wackjob conspiracy theory?
Kim Jung UN. OMG
It’s Kim Jong-un - Are you dense?
Not Jung and not UN
I think the peace through strength argument has merit with Iran, the hub of Middle East trouble. They are just as dangerous with nuclear weapons as North Korea. The hiring of Pompeo and Bolton suggests Trump is assembling a war cabinet.
Bolton on Fox dismissed Pyongyangs offer of talks as a mere ploy to buy time as it develops nuclear arms. He believes the talks should start with where US ships can port to load up North Korea’s nuclear weapons. Otherwise, the preemptive military strikes.
On Iran, Giuliani, recently commented on Bolton when he announced, if anything, John Bolton has become more determined that there needs to be regime change in Iran, that the nuclear agreement needs to be burned, and that you need to be in charge of that country.
If our problems with regime change come from our experience with Iraq, Bolton has a credible answer:
I think the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, that military action, was a resounding success, Bolton told Tucker Carlson. The chaos that followed in Iraq, he said, was caused by a poorly executed occupation that ended too soon. On the bright side, Bolton said, the mistakes the U.S. made in Iraq offered lessons about what to do after a regime is overthrown in the future.”
That answer nails it. Zer0 did not want the success his predecessor had in Iraq. I have no doubt he sabotaged that success in every way he could. Very few knew what he was up to. I had no mistake. Zer0 was criminal in Iraq, North Korea, China, Russia, and Iran (to name a few).
Bolton is a realist.
Iran and North Korea are both legitimate security risks with nuclear capable ballistic missiles.
But the long term problem is China, who is doing their best imitation of taking the Sudetenland and annexing Austria, but in the South China Sea.
These problems are real and need to be tackled with tough diplomacy while preparing for the worst.
Our fine-feathered appease-niks, would once again get us into a big war...with their hide your head in the sand isolationism.
Note:
I meant to imply...if they should get ballistic missile technology capable of delivering nuclear weapons.
Classic.
You speak commie korean?
That is a mis-quote by you. Trump clearly was talking about actual threatening action, not words from the bat boy’s mouth. Such as launching a threatening weaponized missile over.
Ambassador Bolton along with Mike Pompeo will be the architects of America’s foreign policy. A builder like President Trump recognizes brilliance and knows good architects. Sometimes architects have to build things over swamps.
Raiderboy, you are about as wrong as you can be about Bolton.
Plain Talk; I envy you that moment!
Take deep breath boys and girls.
DO you know of any of Trump’s cabinet members or inner circle of adviser being able to lead Trump by the noose? Why do you think Trump fired Tillerson? And McMaster? And several others?
I will tell you why...because they had a different agenda. Trump makes the final decisions and if you are not willing to execute his agenda, you will be shown the door.
Back to Bolton. Trump is unique in that he is actually trying to do what he said during the campaign. What did he say during the campaign repeatedly? That the Iran nuclear deal was the absolute worst deal ever. McMaster did not agree with the boss and he was shown the door. Bolton is one of the few in DC who favors killing the Iran nuclear deal. That is why he was hired.
Another thing Trump repeated many times (I actually hear this first hand having attended his rallies) that the Iraq was was the biggest foreign policy blunder since perhaps Vietnam. Trump is not known to change agenda. Therefore do NOT expect a shock and Awe attack on Tehran like Bush-43 ordered on Baghdad.
Ok, fine. Then don't hire them in the first place. Isn't that what a job interview is for?
In a couple of hours interview it is impossible to flush out all thoughts residing in one’s brain. If it was so, no employee would ever get fired since every one had an interview before and presented a detailed resume.
Only after an employee is hired, it becomes known after several months if it was a mistake. Good executives will admit the mistake and take action.
You may think that, if it gives you comfort. Bolton is one of the worst of the neocon warmongers.
My thinking is these rogue nations do not need our conventional method of nuclear technology. No need for high megaton weapons that need powerful launch missiles. What I think is being developed is EMP technology. I don’t think it needs a large nuke to trigger the EMP. Such would not need a warhead design strong enough to reenter earth’s atmosphere (as I describe below). A conventional weapon needs a strong warhead to reenter the earth’s atmosphere so it can send an air compression wave form over the surface, doing the destruction. This is how an audio speaker works and without an atmosphere, it is worthless.
Come the EMP weapon. Just launch it into space over the United States. It does not need to come down with the difficulty of reentry temperatures. Such a weapon just gets to its destination quickly and sends an electromagnetic pulse. Intercepting these will be difficult. It is much like a high powered radio signal, which is also the same type of electromagnetic emission. In fact, new technology EMP employs high powered microwaves which can be sent with cruise missiles. In North Korea’s case, just getting a missile over the United States is good enough for EMP. A nuclear powered EMP pulse will do the job right nicely. No more anything that runs on semiconductors once it goes off.
