If McConnell eliminated the filibuster tomorrow, the first thing we'd learn is that
the Republican Party can't even get 50 votes on any bill of substance in the U.S. Senate. THAT is why the GOP doesn't dump the filibuster.

THAT is why the GOP doesn't dump the filibuster. Don't always agree with you, but THAT is drop dead correct.
IMO, for at least two reasons:
i) it would reveal the extent of the RINO rot in the GOP (your point) and,
ii) it would reveal the turtle's lack of leadership skills.
