POTUS TRUMP SIGNING STATEMENT,
" ...opposition to creating strong military....60 billion increase in defence spending...i`ve signed this omnibus budget bill...forced to have (signed)...i will never sign another bill like this again...no one read it...Obama signed one that was actually larger...democrats added things....get rid of filibuster rule...we wanted DACA in this bill....democrats would not do it....give me line item veto...border security... 1.6 billion... fixing existing walls...short term funding...we`re very disappointed...had to fund our military...not happy with 1.6 billion to start the wall...democrats...did not want DACA in this bill...democrats using you...we had to give up things...waste of money...the way the system works...thank you all very much."
I warned Freepers about this even before the election in 2016. Donald Trump can’t do anything on his own, so let’s not be unrealistic about what he can accomplish in the White House.
“Yes, they could have had Hillary as President instead!
Again, how would that have been worse? At least the Republicans would have pretended not to support this mess. Now, they own it. It’s theirs. It’s Trump’s. Get ready for the bloodbath in 2018 because it’s coming. “
Well, dummy, we wouldn’t have learned just how corrupt ‘our’ fed govt really is. Hillary would be using the FBI as an upgrade to her Arkansas death squads. So, yeah, things would have been way way worse. At least now, Americans can fully appreciated just how FUBARed ‘their’ fed govt really is.
Pfffffffffffffffft. Utter cowardly capitulation today. Unequivocal surrender without a fight. The other side exulting over their victory even before its not too late to wipe the smirks right off their faces and still we lay down. But, glorious victory is just on the horizon. Youll excuse me if I dont get up.
AMEN to that....glad Im retired...sick of this guy and all his excess drama....we’ve been played fools....let the left have it....its bankrupt anyway
My degree is in History. I’ve read history my entire life. All of my professors who addressed the subject said Civil War was misnamed, and that it was in fact a war of independence, but that since it had been called Civil War for so long, the term had become meaningless as it related to that struggle. Now, I can’t say that many of my professors agreed with that revolution, or thought the South pursued a noble cause.
If the Dems take the House, there might be an impeachment attempt, but there are not enough votes in the Senate for conviction. It would be a disaster politically for the Dems if they went that route and any Reps that might join them. Whatever grounds they based such an impeachment, the Trump base would be more energized and motivated than ever. It would set off a firestorm during the remaining first term of Trump. Trying to overturn an election by the political class would set off a constitutional crisis at the very least and lead to social unrest. I, for one, would be in the streets.
PS: I left off tax reform as another major accomplishment of Trump.
As far as Bush was concerned he was a fool about 'read my lips'... Bush believed the democrats. Bush thought they were honorable.
No one on our side believes that now.
We even know they hire people to write letters out of their War Rooms to our Congress people pretending to be constituents.
Everything about Democrats is a paid lie... atroturf evil... all illusion. After we expose the corruption of the Clintons and Deep State we'll go after the paid trolls in the Democrat Party... they're all over the internet... using our words to make their filth sound more authentic. It'll be fun to out them...but for now there's bigger fish to fry.
The senate would vote overwhelming to convict right now...To the tune of 90% because they don’t like his hair. What planet are you living on?
It appears secret grand juries have already been called... I’ll see if I can find some links...
First Levin was never a big supporter of Trump. And Trump is still there fighting the swamp. He has been courageous and resolute. He will lose a few battles, but he has not yet lost the war.
These are the times that try men's souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.
You have lived too long in NJ. You #NeverTrumpers will never learn.
Maybe rather than just responding to ‘news articles’ we should have a few ‘possible solutions’ threads.
Your ideas belong there... as do some of the ideas of our other freepers. Maybe we can flesh out some possibilities.
Ya think? Wheres the evidence for that? Earlier in the week he talked some of the Republicans to vote in favor of this abortion. This bill passed the senate with 63 votes.Do you really think that those and three more senators would vote to override? Everyones entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts.
No one has yet come up with a reason for an impeachment? It’s a joke. There is no there, there.
Maxine Waters can say it if she wants, but they have ZERO reason to impeach. Not going to happen.
I live on planet Earth. You must be from Mars. There is no way Reps vote to impeach Trump. It would be the end of the GOP period.
Trump just got shived by McConnell and Ryan.
He had a choice of standing firm with his base and vetoing this spending bill or signing this spending bill and alienating a huge portion of his political base.
If he vetoed the bill, we would face economic instability, a stock market crash, ObamaCare meltdown, rapid breakdown of our military, meltdown of fragile and bitterly contested diplomacy in the Middle East and North Korea and a destruction of President Trumps public approval. The losses in 2018 would insure his impeachment and removal from office.
If he signed the budget, we would have continuing economic growth, stabilization of our Obamacare disaster, success in the Middle East and North Korea, rebuilding of our military and still significant losses for Trump in 2018 - but at least the country would still be on the right track
Trump was presented with a Hobson’s Choice by a treacherous Republican leadership and he choose the best of the bad options. Both Trump and the country are in no shape for the fight the Democrats and Republicans (many of them dead enders who are bitter and vengeful for being forced out of their cushy and lucrative lifetime positions of power in November) .
Give Trump a year to keep turning things around, win public approval and consolidate his power and we will be ready to win the fight.
Thanks.
Really? Despite the valiant effort that was made to rally the people? Reagans tax cuts passed in a rat-controlled house because he rallied popular support. Now none of them INCLUDING Trump, even try. Instead they use the same corrupt lawmaking practices the other side uses and, except for a random tweet this morning, Trump was with them every step of the way
