“Do these morons understand the firearm market?”
I think you are missing the point! This isn’t about cardholders, this is about merchants ( gun shops, etc.) who use Citibank to manage their receivables. They are, in effect saying, if your business doesn’t do what we want it to, we’re through being your banker. I would suggest that there’s a market here for a bank that wants these merchants business. This is an extension of what Obola was doing. He was forcing banks not to do business with gun dealers. Basically cutting off their credit.

"The new policy requires its new retail sector clients and partners to follow several practices: not sell guns to someone who didn't pass a background check; not sell bump stocks and high-capacity magazines; and not sell guns to people under 21 years old."What about it's old retail sector clients and partners? Or is it just telling new business to pound sand?
(As with Dicks' not selling AR15s that it didn't sell anyway, I'm guessing that this is effectively more meaningless virtue signalling. What large retailer sells guns without a background check? And aren't bump stocks about to be scuttled by BATF? And how many 18 year olds have credit cards with enough of a credit balance to buy a gun?)

Not only do these corporations support abortion, I think it would be safe to say there are many who participate in the world arms traded in one way or another.

Have they paid back the billions we gave them to keep their doors open? Just think how much our deficit would shrink if those backs paid back taxpayers

So my Costco “Anywhere” Visa is a CITI card, I wonder if that is the only card they offer?
Anywhere, but a gun store Visa. I’m so tired of these damned virtue signaling pansies.

i am gonna ask at costco if they have another bank card on offer
i do not want citi card anymore!
im not buying firearms but im sick and tired of being insulted by these outfits trying to force their (usually stupid) politics on me. i am a bank customer, i signed up for a bank card NOT a political action group and certainly not the commie or DNC party! just a damned bank card, and that’s ALL I want from Citi, damnit!

Precisely, my good FRiend.
This is about leaning on local gun stores, not (so much) gun buyers.
Citi is, forthwith, officially a bad word. Their hating of American traditions and Americans is evident. Now it is up to us consumers to find available and excellent options.

They still make money off of the interchange fees that they charge the retailer. If you charge on the card, you are helping them.

Ive been a customer for over 30 years. Tomorrow Ill shop for an alternative... will be painful to unwind all my accounts but Im going to do it. Anybody have a good full service bank suggestion, one that isnt likely to follow Citis virtue signaling?
To: mojito
I think I'm going to do my "part" too. My sister wants me to attend my nephew's wedding in July. The most expedient approach would be a Delta flight to Reno, a car rental from National with expenses going to my Citi card. The alternative is a 9 hour drive in my personal vehicle (one way). A hotel stay (one or two nights) is also a necessary part. I'm less inclined to go given the parties that I would be patronizing to make the trip.

It’s not hard to switch. They’re not stopping anyone anywhere from legally buying a gun, and they know it. Pure worthless virtue-signaling.
To: imardmd1
Unfortunately CITI is also the vendor for Costco cards. I will reduce my use of this card as much as possible.
To: mojito
I have a Citi Card that I rarely use, but will be cancelling it this weekend, with a caustic explanation.

If the bank truly believes that guns are bad, then they should get rid of their armed guards at their banks, or disarm their guards.
