Surprising especially considering all Supremes were in agreement. The Republicans in the districts are going to have to work harder then ever to convince voters they are worthy of keeping their jobs now.

I’ve heard the GOP could lose four seats in PA based on this new map.

Which comes back, to being able to work harder to win in the new more competitive districts.

Question to folks from Pennsylvania. Does this mean that the 18th District, stays as is? And Lamb will have to run again in November?

You know, that election that didn’t matter because the district was going to be redrawn anyway and they would get a Republican in there in November. The place that a Dem, who conned everyone into thinking he was actually a Conservative, who will eventually show his true colors and be in lock step with Pelosi, will stay as it is?

You know, Every time the Supremes' names come up on the ballot for retention I try to remember if I heard anything bad about any of them. I usually do some superficial searches and then vote to retain. The political parties of these judges are not openly stated.

Now I find out that the majority of the judges are dems.

All I can say is: Fool Me Once...

So the black robes get to draw congressional districts and not our elected representatives? I’m getting sick to my stomach. We are being ruled by unelected demigods

Sounds like a situation where a Constitutionally-minded court sees fit to stay out of what’s a legislative matter, leaving standing a Constitutionally-violating court’s decision to butt into the legislative matter.

There it is again: don’t have standing. Why is it everytime I agree with an issue, the side I favor does not have standing yet every time I find no nexus between law and the opposing side, there is always “standing.”

Regardless of questionable congressional district maps, it remains that there is nothing stopping patriots from working with their state lawmakers to repeal the ill-conceived 17th Amendment.

This is beyond outrageous. This is theft of the GOP majority and voters by judicial fiat. The PA legislature should DISREGARD this illegal and unconstitutional remap, period. Run them under the duly-enacted lines.

Lamb's seat is gone.

I bet the Democrats didn't know they were removing a Democrat when they redid the District lines.

Bad news for York County, now the most Gerrymandered county in the Commonwealth.

Dallastown Borough abuts Yoe Borough and both are surrounded by York Township.

Dallastown will be in the 11th District, Yoe in the 10th; and to make it “work” with contiguous areas some of York Township will be in each district, with the divisions going down to the precinct level of its five wards.

Surprising especially considering all Supremes were in agreement.

I don't think it necessarily means all the justice of the Supreme Court opposed it. I think it means that fewer than four justices - the minimum needed - agreed to take the case up.

The primaries are just a few days away and the map is only going to be used for the 2018 and 2020 elections since they will need to be redistricted in time for 2022 anyway. IOW, it’s not as huge as some would portray it.

Alito would not provide relief. It seemed to be a standing issue, but I’m not sure. It sounds like it will have to await an actual i jured party.

I thought it was purely a constitutional question. State legislatures were given that power in the US Constitution
