4 Billboards In Kansas Call For Charges Against Cop Who Shot Unarmed 'Swatting' Victim
Yahoo Noose ^ | March 18, 2018 | Dominique Mosbergen, Puff Ho

Four billboards have appeared in Wichita, Kansas; all of them bearing the same somber message: “Andy Finch is dead. If you believe in justice, it’s time to file charges.”

In December, a Wichita police officer fatally shot Andy Finch after a fake emergency call directed law enforcement to the 28-year-old victim’s home. A man in California has since been charged with involuntary manslaughter for the so-called “swatting” hoax call, but the victim’s family and community activists have repeatedly called for the officer who killed Finch — who was unarmed at the time of the shooting — to come under greater scrutiny. The officer has not been charged with a crime.

I just checked the dictionary and the word “suspect” is still in there.

If he intentionally broke the law, we treat him as a criminal.

Even though he put his life on the line for us? What happend to "forgive him and fire him"?

“That’s peculiar that you say that, cause the guy who got shot to death by a rifle, who was utterly innocent, didn’t get due process.”

And so? What’s your point? Does that mean that the accused loses his entitlement to due process? Does that mean that we suspend the presumption of innocence?

“Will you participate in that debate?”

I see no indications that you are capable of reasoned argument, so, not with you.

It means danger.

So in view of that -- we should *definitely* let law enforcement shoot someone in the chest from 44 yards away, even though they don't have a weapon.

Because if we don't, well, who knows what might happen.

Someone might get *hurt*.

Funny how this never applies when law enforcement *KNOWS* there is real shooting going on, like in Coward County Florida, where the noble brave heroic selfless noble heroic cops waited outside while 17 kids got shot.

If you want the reputation, ya gotta do more than gun down innocents and eat donuts and ride off into the sunset with your pension.

Which reminds me, how about that noble selfless heroic Andy McCabal? Should he have been allowed to retire and keep his pension, even though he's already worth $11 million? And has been found guilty of lying by his own agency's Inspector General?

Your outrage would be better directed at the idiot who made the call

You need to go down to the dollar store and pick up a quart of rationality, because you’ve gone bone dry.

If I shoot someone, the standard is whether or not I felt my life, or someone else’s, was in grave danger.
If this officer did not witness the threat of grave danger to someone, he shouldn’t have shot.
Merely receiving a phone or radio call that there was something going on, doesn’t warrant killing anyone.
I’m a long time supporter of law enforcement, but I don’t support this action.

I choose #2. If the people who are employed to keep the peace and enforce the law are going to hold the peace in contempt and hold themselves above the law, then what is the use of them anyway?

Wearing body armor, behind a defendable pain 44 YARDS away and the cop “feels” threatened? Nope. Wrong answer.

The early days people entrusted safety to themselves, in the last days of this country it will be the same.

“not with you”

Of course not. I knew that when I proposed it.

Because the majority of Free Republic, the most conservative discussion board in America, would hand you your ass.

You think your insane anti-cop ranting places you in the majority here?

The fact that people turn away in disgust doesn’t mean you won the argument.

“Your outrage would be better directed at the idiot who made the call”

He’s already been charged with manslaughter.

Why not the man who pulled the trigger?

Can you articulate a plausible reason?

Oh, and in case you’re unaware...and I suspect you’re not...you’re the one spitting insanity.

And also the one who is under the delusion that a majority agrees with you.

And that is CLEARLY not the case.

Not that you will ever some to that realization. You’re deluded.

...I don’t support this action.

Neither do I.

Your general remarks about the Law governing use of deadly force are correct, and although the law is written in a sterile utopian courtroom purposely to protect the non violent and the innocent citizen, it can be manipulated by the coward, the craven coward and the criminal under Color of Law, to profit by the disregard for the lives of the community he had an unwritten mandate to shield from criminals and criminal irresponsibility.
