So these publications are being awarded damages for running a false story about someone. They lied, and are getting paid for lying by the victim of their lies, by order of a judge. What a country.

I always admired Richard Simmons, he was the Liberace of the fitness industry.
His flamboyancy (which always caused me to chuckle) and associated videos lead a lot of fat people to change their life styles around and lose weight.
I hope he overcomes these media and legal assaults against him.............

The story was either true or false.And proving it was false would be as easy as a 10 minute visit to a doctor.If false a story like that would be very,*very* embarrassing...so much so that monetary damages might be warranted.

Notice the logic the judge ruled “reporting a person transgender not injurious.” You have to fully buy into the latest “gender” nonsense to believe public discussion of your sexual organs is not injurious. Especially for a person who has likely had to deal with persistent rumors about his sexuality. Not being a judge I would think the obvious malice would be proof enough of injury.
