Nikki Haley warns: Russia could use chemical weapons in New York
The Washington Examiner ^ | 03/14/18 | Joel Gehrke

New York City could be the next site of a chemical assassination attempt if world leaders fails to punish Russia for its alleged role in poising of a former spy in the United Kingdom, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley warned Wednesday.

“If we don't take immediate concrete measures to address this now, Salisbury will not be the last place we see chemical weapons used,” Haley told the United Nations Security Council. “They could be used here in New York, or in cities of any country that sits on this Council. This is a defining moment.”

Haley raised the specter of new attacks during an emergency council meeting, held at the request of British officials who have accused Russia of using “a military-grade nerve agent” to target a former military intelligence officer who committed treason. Russian diplomats have denied responsibility for the incident, but British investigators say they have identified the poison as a chemical weapon produced by the Soviet Union during the Cold War.

“Time and time again, member-states say they oppose the use of chemical weapons under any circumstance,” Haley said. “Now one member stands accused of using chemical weapons on the sovereign soil of another member. The credibility of this council will not survive if we fail to hold Russia accountable.”

Time for President Trump to $hit can her for trying to get us into a war with Russia.

You might be right as I'm pretty sure Haley was foisted on Trump by the neo-liberals early in the transition. If he canned Tillerson for disagreeing with him on foreign policy, he might be tempted to do the same with her.

At the very least he should demote her from the cabinet and make her report to Sec. Pompeo. That would shut her up.

If you visit Russia, you will see new Stalin statues erected and memoribilia sold — often steps from the very churches he destroyed.

In one apartment I stayed in, I slept under a postcard portrait of portrait next to a Virgin Mary icon.

Blame the schizophrenia on Putin and the ex KGB running the Orthodox Church.

In Russian apt, I slept under a postcard-sized portrait of Stalin next to a Virgin Mary icon.* Blame the spiritual schizophrenia of Stalin-support/Soviet Nostalgia and questionable resurgent Christianity on Putin.

Sorry typo.

Christianity has to be internal my friend, not just external.

Looks like Sec. Tillerson can be added to the Assad Curse list.

Is Haley next?

Haley and Tillerson did not get along.

Haley was the first to congratulate Pompeyo upon replacement announcement.

Pompeyo visited Kiev in 2014 and said West was not doing enough to curb Putin.

And there is nothing Christian about undermining Israel which is what Russian forces in Middle East have been doing alongside Iran and to Assad’s content. Its more blasphemous and offensive to God — to perpetuate Putin’s agenda in the name of Christ.

Its like, great: revive the Soviet Union, start a new Cold War, but to use’s God’s name this time? That is inviting even more wrath from God. And thats how I felt while living in Russia too.

But there is a resistance brewing. Praise God.

Haley and Tillerson did not get along.

Part of the reason for that is because the UN ambassador position should be reporting to the Sec. of State. It's really not required to be a cabinet level position.

Haley is a CFR plant whose chain needs to be yanked hard.

Pompeio and Haley work well together and both are active churchgoers. God be with them.

I am sure Stalin memorabilia is sold in Russia. Also elsewhere - I've seen them in the U.S. And there for sure are communists who keep Stalin's pictures. We also have religious nuts.

But where are the new Stalin statues erected in Russia? My husband worked several years in Moscow and traveled to St. Petersburg and other places, didn't see anything like in your experience. He did see an old statue of Stalin not in Russia but in Gori, Georgia, Stalin's home town. That's the only one he ever saw.

It’s almost hilarious how FR has become Pro-Russian and advocates for one of the most tyrannical regimes on the planet.

“Move to Russia and enjoy Putin’s rule in all its glory instead of bashing the United Kingdom.”

Pull stakes yourself from my country, you rootless agitator.

In the past 4 years post-Crimea alone - Stalin revivalism has hit fever pitch at certain junctures. Example: the 70 year anniversary of Victory Day in 2015. That was my initial exposure.

And let’s not forget Lenin’s body lies in open display at the center of Red Square.

Much of the moral basis for Putin’s expansionist vision for Russia rests on the Soviet Union’s “victory” against the Nazis in World War II...and Stalin of course was at the helm.

In your agitprop, if you are going to continue to posture as an insider, it would help to spell the principals name correctly.

You lame foreign agitator.

We have a lot of strange things going on.

Seems there’s some part of our society who actively wants war with Russia. That will not end well should anything like that happen.

We have the hysterical left claiming everything is the fault of the Russians; which is ridiculous.

Then we have Russia actively helping Iran, which will end badly for them. Most of the world, including the USA ignores that. Liberals and Rex Tillerson want Iran to keep their Obama cash.

Nikki seems a bit over the top here. I don’t think the Russians are going to hit New York with chemical weapons.

Not unless we’re in a hot war with them.

I respectfully disagree that FR has become advocate for Russian tyranny. Instead, it is more a reaction to and frustration with how tyrannical the U.S. has become - notably our college campuses and the rule of the judges who now make decisions about every detail of our lives. They actually have made decisions on national security - an area where they have had no information.

Also, many just don't believe any more what is being said about Russia. The fake news and manipulation by the media is bound to take a toll. Sad part is, the Russians might pull something serious, and it won't be believed.

I am tired of all the Western Civilization bashing.

If you are going to complain about Muslim invasion, then Russia falls under that category even more. Moscow is more Muslim than London and Russia is historically more Muslim than the rest of Europe. Period. Hence Chechnya, Tatarstan, Daghestan et al. You know this.

Plus the increase of migrants from Central Asia/post-Soviet space.

And the low birth rates/demographic crisis of ethnic Russians also worth noting. Life expectancy is improving but up until 2010s, male life expectancy in Russia was age 55...

Muslims have not been as plagued by abortion or alcoholism the way ethnic Russian population has traditionally been.

The author of confusion is so hard at work that it’s getting to be close to impossible to know what is real and what is fake.

From Scripture, we know Russia is an enemy in these days. That doesn’t mean the Russians are enemies, but their gov’t.

I don’t trust the “hawks” at all when it comes to aggression against Russia, but for folks to be on the side of the Russian gov’t shows just how far gone some of us are.
