A thread to discuss the results.
I feel like Lamb has a lot of momentum, has run as a moderate, and has run a better campaign. I'll predict he'll win tonight (although I'd like to see Saccone win).
NYT does a good job with election results.

“I don’t get these effing voters switching parties like this!!!”
It’s turnout. Dems turned out. Republicans/Conservatives didn’t. That’s what this is coming down to.
Did Rush or Hannity even mention this race?
In these state races MONEY is the key with some rare exception.
What is the RNC doing, using donor money for cocktail parties?
Pretty much tired of hearing out they’re getting a ton more money than the DEMS and all these races the R gets outspent by millions.
You are right. But at least we can say the blue wave has crashed and burned some...
It’s puzzling to me too, but it’s really how elections are won. Lamb ran as a moderate and ran a better campaign. However, he’ll be voting with Nancy (maybe not these next few months because he wants to win in midterms but certainly after).
Recount. Recount. Recount.
at the time of my post (lamb up by 700) 97% of Westmoreland in yet only 93% of Alleghaney (. now 96% of Alleghaney and Lambs lead now 1100....)
That and the fact that 2016 was an aberration. Hillary was the worst possible candidate.
Trailing now by 1,132
Drew Miller
Libertarian
1,259 0.6
And another Libertarian who can’t possibly win CAN throw it to the democRat.
9 precincts left in Alleghany, 5 left in Westmoreland, 13 in Washington
Doesn’t it have to be less than 1%??
Allegheny CO will make it a wider margin than that.
I tried to do some math. I just wish they would do the dump now and get it over with, but as always, they will see how many votes they need to allow Lamb to win....so dang frustrating every election same thing even in small districts. Ugh.
Only 90% of Washington County reporting.
Hannity just said on his FNC show tonight: “With all due respect to the Republican, he’s (referring to Saccone) a weak candidate.”
That appears to be the Democrat strategy, believe it or not. The less that is said about these races, the better chance the Democrat has to win it. That is why the media isn't talking about these special races much (in the run-up, at least). The GOP does have cash to spend, but they are sitting on it instead.
Where have I heard that song before??
In passing they would mention it - but I just remember last year with the Georgia race that it was a major topic of discussion for weeks leading up to the election on every talk radio show, including the day of. I did not get to listen to all of Rush’s show today but did not hear him mention it once in the times I was listening - and certainly not as a major point of discussion.
Sarcone would have lost by 5, if PT didn’t come their on Saturday night.
a special election this close doesnt really tell you much i think....
