CRAP!

NY Times site just updated Allegheny County when it said 100% of the precincts had already reported.

Lamb up 847. Projection has Lamb up 743 at end.

This does not account for the 8000 absentee ballots.

Remove the illegal votes by foreign nationals and the (R) wins.

That's the REAL voter disenfranchisement!

this lousy candidate was good enough to win in 2010, 2012 (!), 2014, and 2016.

doesn’t seem very lousy to me.

The Republicans will have to work harder this election.
This should be a wake up call to work harder.

Anyone have any thoughts, etc on these absentee ballots - for example, what counties might they be predominantly from or whether the GOP had a good absentee GOTV effort?

The people in that area didn’t seem that enthusiastic about him from what I could tell.

This guy may win or lose this particular race. Midterms are usually hard for the majority party, but it isn’t a harbinger of a “blue wave” in November.

This is a special election, indicative of that area.

Good info. The 2 precincts out are in Saccone’s best county, Westmoreland.

Maybe somebody got wise and held out some boxes just to offset that late surge of "found" Democrat boxes. Ya think?

"If the messaging they used for this race is their plan for November they will lose the house."

And for all intents and purposes...we'll "loose" the white house too since pelosi's house will impeach Trump for eating a russian dressing salad a decade ago.

They, and the media, will tie Trumps hands more than they are now and even if the (R)'s hold the Senate, they won't have the backbone to push through Trumps more conservative justices...including to SCOTUS.

A (D) controlled house essentially means MAGA will be brought to a standstill save for executive orders and the like.

3500 absentee ballots from Allegaheny. Even though Hillary lost this district by 20 points, more Democrats voted absentee in 2016 than Reps.

Ideological purity doesn’t matter if the candidate loses. Must be some balance between that and the ability to campaign

Aren’t absentee ballots counted before the election, and already in the count?

the economy is booming in historic fashion. unemployment is at historic lows. the stock market is at an all time high. trump ceased the war on fossil fuels.

the PA district really should have been an easy win. I think we should be concerned about why, exactly, it was not.

I agree. I don’t think Saccone is necessarily a bad guy or really even a bad candidate (as I glibly said)

I think he was a stodgy appearing candidate running against a young, ambitious lawyer/leftist slimy ex-JAG type...the type of person our combat troops are concerned about, and for good reason.

Well, I agree with all you say about the economy and unemployment, but we are only starting to get that fact realized by a lot of citizens because of the tax cuts. If it weren’t for those, the majority of non-conservatives who get their information from the likes of CNN et al would think the country is in a chaotic death spiral.

You and I understand all that because we aren’t depending on those sources for all of our news, but a lot of people are.

I don’t watch the news, but my wife does. I walked by and paused the other night when Lester Dolt was on, and in the time frame that I watched, it was anti-Trump, Russian Collusion, people leaving the Administration, anti-gun. And that was just in a matter of a few minutes.

That is something to be concerned about. But it isn’t something we haven’t been able to overcome before.

No, they are counted last. Sometimes they are still coming in days after the election, from overseas (military ballots for example). As long as the post mark is on or before election day, they are counted.

R’s outspent 5-1, a good looking young guy who said he wouldn’t vote for Peolosi and a district/area of the state historically that remembers FDR and JFK Democrats and think they still exist.

Latest as of now:

Too close to call.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/in-pennsylvanias-trump-country-a-surging-democrat-takes-house-race-down-to-the-wire/2018/03/13/d9192ccb-eba1-4cdc-bda3-dffab0ebaddc_story.html?utm_term=.78ad5528937f

With several thousand absentee and provisional ballots outstanding, Lamb earned 49.9 percent of votes cast and Saccone earned 49.5 percent, with 99.7 percent of precincts reporting. A recount is possible if the candidates are separated by 0.5 percentage points or less.

Hours after supporters at respective campaign events waited for some finality, Saccone told his backers, “You know we’re still fighting the fight. It’s not over yet.”

Precinct results are not currently available in Westmoreland County, a heavily Republican part of the district.

Saconne at will of win.
