I agree with Tillerson on Free Trade (aka lower taxes and cheaper prices for American consumers)

But overall? I was skeptical of the choice but gave the dude the benefit of the doubt. But every report paints him as borderline incompetent.

They’ve been saying for months he and Trump weren’t seeing eye to eye, I wonder why it took so long.

Finding a good SOS is apparently very hard, I couldn’t tell you the last truly good one. If Condi is the best one of the last 25 years, what does that tell you? Pompeo has a neo-conny past but is obviously much more conservative than anyone else to have the job lately and someone I feel more comfortable with than some corporate dude.

Okay, valid point there. Most of them have sucked, including the ones appointed by "conservative" Presidents. Was GHWB's guy James Baker any good? I was too young at the time to pay attention to politics.

John Bolton would have been ideal the SOS for Trump, IMO. Tillerson was an awful pick and I said so at the time. I wouldn't have given him the benefit of the doubt, the guy's background gave me serious pause, he had "weasel" written all over him whenever he commented, and I would have voted against the confirmation if I were a Senator.

More controversial, I stand by my opposition to "conservative home run picks" Betsy DeVos and Neal Gorsuch too.
