Leftists are slamming a new Bruce Willis movie as a racist commercial for the NRA.
Opening this weekend, Death Wish, a remake of the 1974 film of the same name, stars Willis as Paul Kersey, a Chicago doctor who turns vigilante to exact his revenge on a group of men who murdered his wife and brutally attacked his daughter. Heres a synopsis from RottenTomatoes:
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures presents director Eli Roths reimagining of the 1974 revenge thriller Death Wish. Dr. Paul Kersey (Bruce Willis) is a surgeon who only sees the aftermath of his citys violence when it is rushed into his ER until his wife (Elisabeth Shue) and college-age daughter (Camila Morrone) are viciously attacked in their suburban home. With the police overloaded with crimes, Paul, burning for revenge, hunts his familys assailants to deliver justice. As the anonymous slayings of criminals grabs the medias attention, the city wonders if this deadly avenger is a guardian angel or a grim reaper. Fury and fate collide in the intense action-thriller Death Wish. Paul Kersey becomes a divided person: a man who saves lives, and a man who takes them; a husband and father trying to take care of his family, and a shadowy figure fighting crime; a surgeon extracting bullets from suspects bodies, and a man seeking justice that detectives are quickly closing in on.Sounds awesome, right? Leftist critics are hating on this movie, blasting it as NRA-Agitprop and white man wish fulfillment.

Wow I’ve seen huge difference between the public and reviewers , but 15 to 85 must be a record.
No kidding. Talk about hypocrisy. Reviewers single out this one for gun violence among the hundreds of films the last few years?
Yeah. I read an article about it and just figured it must have some strong political message of some sort.
Looks like it does, and exposes which side is in the majority. :)
Never heard that about the film makers changing
the way the author wrote it.Good for them.
Bernie Goetz was a folk hero back then too.Seems like it was
even worse back then the wailing of the libs.People
love watching bad guys get drilled.
If anyone cares, the original, Charles Bronson movie, is on sale now, from Vudu, for five dollars. Rental is even less!
I may actually buy a ticket to see a movie again.
ABC had the damned Oscars telecast on starting at NOON Pacific time. It was blocking anything & everything else. (However, I loved seeing Phil Mickelson sin the golf tournament). And I watched the NASCAR race from Las Vegas.
One of the side stations I get by antenna had a “Death Wish Marathon” on. One right after the other. That sure was more fun to watch for probably the 4th time each than to watch the Oscars.
The new Black Panther black hero movie is still breaking records in it’s 3rd week.
Someone posted here that there are more than 160 gun incidents in it....
So that is OK because they are all black?
More standards than a tired prostitute.
I’m told that Democrats hate it, so I will be seeing it tomorrow. If it’s good I may watch it twice.

As in the original Charles Bronson Death Wish in 1973 and its sequels, the viewers side with the protagonist and feel partnered with him in the "vigilante justice" being dispensed out to the bad guys.
I don't recall any politically correct scenes or liberal narratives being pushed or attempts to mask over the vigilante aspect. It played a little campy at times but so did Bronson's original.
Except for some concessions to more modern times, like the use of smart phones, the movie plays out pretty matter-of-factly, much like the original.
This movie won't be nominated for any awards, but it was entertaining and enjoyable. Ironically, somewhat of a feel-good movie because the bad guys are being "taken care of".
Without seeing it I would imagine that all the perps he offs are white
Yes. In the credits he was listed as Freak #1.
Others in the cast listed as "uncredited" were Olympia Dukakis as a cop at the precinct and Tom Hayden as an E.R. doctor. Yes. That Tom Hayden.
Charles Bronson as Kersey was an architect who got his gun on a trip to Arizona.
How does Bruce Willis as a Dr. Kersey get his gun in Chicago?
How does Bruce Willis as a Dr. Kersey get his gun in Chicago?
Probably just went to the local rai yard and helped himself to one. :)
bang ping on liberals twisted panties
Most leftie critics hated the original version too.

That’s funny, libs said the very same things when the original Death Wish came out in 1974. Some things never change.
Movie looks AWESOME!

Looks like i’m gonna have to break my 12 year theater avoidance record...
Squishy swishy lib critics panned it, what an endorsement!
