Mark my word, If President Trump signs any gun control bill that limits anyone's rights under the constitution, he will be a one term President, and the Democrats will win Congress this year.
He is seriously stepping into dangerous territory, and Republicans will pay the price if they give him legislation to do what he wants to do. There is a reason even Democrats did not go where Trump is going, because they knew they would have lost the US Senate back in 2010. Instead they didn't do go there, and kept the Senate until 2014.
He could very well still pay he continues down the path of using executive order to limit any constitutional rights.

So far the bill seems good but if you add in retroprocity the rats don’t have any cover for their histrionics and will vote against it. I think it was a smart move.

Who would have thought that a “Republican” president would convene a gun control conference such as the one held today. It was very disappointing to see the way Steve Scallise was put down when he brought up a national concealed carry bill, but Manchin and Toomey’s gun control bill was applauded by the president.
He might have lost the November election this afternoon. No wonder Dianne Feinstein was grinning from ear to ear as the festivities wrapped up.
