TCMS tradition was broken last year for two very good reasons. That, by default, started a new tradition ~ holding the shoot in the same location! I only fought a little bit to go back to original idea of not going to the same range in consecutive years. The wise ole planning committee feels that the TCMS has found its home.
The TXMS VIII shoot will be held at Hicksville Gun Range, in Gatesville, TX on October 6th, starting at 10:00 a.m. Where once again we can enjoy the range dogs, the owners and lunch provided by our own cook, cpdiii.
I have reserved all of Cherokee Village Resort for October 4 ~ 7, 2018. When calling to make a reservation, mention that you are with the TexasCowboy group. You will have to make a deposit equal to a one night stay.
Let the planning begin . . .

I signed it. My new state rep will probably be snuggled right in with the rats whether we elect an R or a D in November. The piece of trash on the R ticket has pockets lined by Strauss and company. We had a real conservative on the ticket. Took 3 of the 4 counties in our district but the POS rino’s home county outnumbered the rest of us.
Speaking of pies and TCMS, which mylife did, what kind do y’all want this year? I’ve been bringing banana cream, coconut cream and chocolate cream. Open to suggestions or will do the same.

I bought a brisket a few weeks ago and aged it in my fridge and then smoked and cooked it. I age it until the expiration date and then one week more. It really does improve the flavor. It is just me and wife so I can not eat it all so I slice it up and put half in the freezer and ate the rest at home and with my shooting partner next door. I still have a little bit in the freezer. It also makes great burritos.
I don’t know about TheMom, but I vote brisket. You make the best brisket in the world! :)
Oh Luv! Peach is my favorite too! And my peach trees are bearing for the first time this year. Peach it is.
Brisket can’t be beat. But I’m not gonna turn down steak or shrimp either.
You mentioned brisket in burritos, I’m up for making a big bowl of pico if somebody wants to bring tortillas if folks want to do brisket tacos. Might be less messy in a tortilla while sittin in our lawn chairs. Or maybe I’m just a slob spilling my plate all over my lap. Of course with it in a tortilla you’ll still see me be a slob with juice running down my arm.

All Shoot Personnel Attention To Update:
It has come to pass that TheMom and the Eaker kids will be
unable to attend The Shoot this year. Also of note is the fact
that confirmations this year are on the low side.
Question for everyone:
Should we postpone or cancel The Shoot this year? Me, I'm good
either way. What is the consensus among y'all other folks who ain't me?
