Home schooling is the ultimate solution to eliminating classroom mass murder........

Yep. It’s way too much work. And if you don’t plan your route you could get caught in rush hour traffic. I suppose one advantage is that there is plenty of time to use a muzzle loader.

Uh....a square root is defined as one of two equal factors of a number. Only exact, concise definitions are allowed in Math. <^..^>

[Home schooling is needed on a massive scale in this country if we hope to raise a generation that is not rife with complete nincompoops.]

Absolutely!

Why didn’t someone among the school faculty realize this was the square root symbol?

Maybe the faculty needs homeschooling in a home sheltering the hoplessley clueless and bewildered.

"Clearly, this student needs some more schooling. When questioned, he should have quickly inserted a ‘-1’ inside the “gun”. Then, he could answer that it was just imaginary."

Zing!

I hope I don’t get busted for carrying a concealed algebra function thingy.

As long as it doesn't hold more than 10 integers at a time.

Mass hysteria. No. Mass insanity. Something gravely wrong with the people who reacted insanely to this.

The cops searched the kid’s home!!!!???!!!???

Homeschool parents are not ordinary people.

Ordinary people lack the where with all and the inclination to do a better job than the public schools in spite of their propaganda

Not sure what you are saying. I am not an expert, but I suspect others can correct me if my assumption that most home schoolers are taught by their parents is not accurate.

Who are “ordinary people?” Who else besides parents are working with homes choolers?

As the articles I provided show, the statistics indicate that Home Schooled kids are ahead of their public school peers.

Having worked closely with home schooled kids, I know what you cite is probably correct.

That said, the mass of kids will flounder absent the discipline of ordinary school. That’s the reason there are schools

Complex numbers (numbers with a real and imaginary component) have plenty of uses in real world applications.

AC circuits and aerodynamics are just two fields that use complex numbers.

Just because you don’t use them doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

True. But that use of imaginary doesn’t really have the common meaning of the word. It was used to deride the concept by people who didn’t believe it had a use or purpose. They were proven to be wrong long ago but the name stuck.

Well...we are "ordinary people" who homeschool. We aren't anything special. It isn't about being ordinary...or extraordinary. Not at all. It is about being selfish or not being selfish. We are very ordinary. However, even though we live in Texas, we live in the house I inherited from my parents after they passed and it was the house my mom designed from scratch. It is in a nice town...but the school district is not so great...and is overrun with illegals and there are gang problems.

So, we decided to forgo a second income from my wife working (she also has a college degree) and just suck it up on one income...I am active duty military.

We sacrifice. That is what a separates most homeschoolers from ordinary people who send their kids to public schools: Willingness to sacrifice. Not any special ability. My wife sacrifices time she could be with peers; time she could be at work. We sacrifice nice vacations and "keeping up with the Jones' because we could have 2 incomes.

We sacrifice that for our children because we don't want them exposed (lol..."socialized") to what is in that school. And because of that, we are highly blessed to have kids that are smart, make good decisions, no drug worries, they obey their parents and we have a loving family. We spend time together and when we can, we can take trips during the year when others can't because we are flexible.

But it requires sacrifice. Frankly, not a lot of people are willing to do that. I do not doubt that people love their kids as much as we do...but we have great friends who admit they just could not be at home with their kids all day...it would drive them crazy. They have to be at work to be happy. And the result? One of them now has a kid who is a far left lunatic....and others have drug issues because of the school friends they had that their parents couldn't and didn't keep them away from. We don't have ether worries. My sons are more to the right than I am...

Sacrifice.

It looks like it has a bump-fire slide extender as well. And although it is a B&W image, I'm guessing it has one of those lethal Red Line optic systems for rapid target acquisition.
