A press release from the city of Parkland said that Peterson was named their school resource officer of the year for 2014. The release said that Peterson had been the SRO at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School since 2009. It reads, Deputy Peterson has proven to reliable in handling issues with tact and judgement. Lots of interesting information at the source.
I need to know why he didnt go in. That is all.
Was he afraid to go in because he knew beforehand
that it was a DNC/FB”I”/FF??
Did he know —or enable— who came out the back door,
and with what appears as a long haired girl in the body bag?

This guys whole life led up to a moment of decision and action - where he failed
He has to live with this and find peace somehow
Not one for dumping in him beyond this - nor for defending or making him a victim
He was just another failure point in a dysfunctional scheme managed by incompetents in multiple agencies, way above his pay grade
My first thought was about the guy who killed his expectant wife in CA.
Just guessing but due to minimal range time he had minimal confidence at being able to counteract the killer with an AR-15.
This aside from him being at retirement age, thus not wanting to get his arse shot up towards the end of his LEO career. What good is a fat pension if you get killed or get severely maimed? His thinking not mine!
Is Heavy a good reliable source? I saw the David Hogg 5 fast facts also.. Can we trust Heavy? Not sure yet
“I need to know why he didnt go in.”
Saw a couple threads here where freepers were defending him because that’s how LEO handled Columbine.
Also saw some more that talk about local schools and LEO covering up crimes to improve statistics.
I’m not surprised to see the #neverTrump FReaks ramping up their hate of Trump tweeting this week.
That name is becoming a jinxed name- The one in CA that murdered his pregnant wife Lacey at Christmas time, and the cop in Milwaukee (or maybe Minneapolis) that murdered at least two of his wives. Maybe it's the name Mrs. Scot Peterson that's really jinxed.
By voting with a special ballot system using voting machines that imprint chad cards. Welcome to Broward County!
So he was a good social worker, which is fine, but we also need trained marksmen.
If your last name is Peterson, do NOT name a kid “Scott”
The New York Times reported the day before Petersons resignation that Coral Springs Police Officer Tim Burton had seen Peterson in the schools parking lot seeking cover behind a concrete column leading to a stairwell.
...
The parking lot is an odd place to put a stairwell.
Heavy has been around for a minute, I’ve never heard any complaints about them.
Columbine changed everything in the US. Before Columbine, incidents like this were treated as a hostage situations and policy was to sit and wait until a perimeter was established and negotiators could arrive. Now, policy is to enter and confront immediately.
Back in 2013, the Broward County School Board and the NAACP signed an agreement, to allow the schools to determine discipline for incidents that occurred on campus instead of contacting Law Enforcement. That is probably why Cruz was only suspended or expelled instead of arrested when he brought ammo and knives to school.
We need to see how he was trained to respond to an active shooter in the school. What if he was trained to do what he did?
Did his department place him in the school because he was not able to preform the duties of a sheepdog? Was he special?
The supreme court has already ruled that the police are under no obligation to save a life in danger at the risk of their own.
