US President Donald Trump has said arming teachers could prevent school shootings like that which left 17 people dead last week in Florida.
A staff member with a gun could end an attack "very quickly", he said.
Mr Trump floated the proposal as emotional survivors of the 14 February massacre implored him to make sure it never happens again.
The Republican president also backed calls for improved background checks on gun buyers.

EXACTLY...was thinking today that these school attacks ARE TERRORIST ATTACKS....just not your usual enemy. But, just like attacks on malls, airports, etc....they need to be treated the same.
I agree that this would be another essential firewall. I will say the system was in place to work with numerous checks but EVERYONE (for various reasons ) from the school up to the (former) top law enforcement agency (FBI) has blood on their hands. Ultimately, the stupid “caretakers” of this defective mental midget practically allowed this to happen by complete naivety and ignorance. Maybe it is not fair but usually family know that a kid is a ticking time bomb. The way I see it as nobody will solve or even agree on anything, this will keep on repeating at the delight of all on the left.
Just try one school that is protected by guns and see what happens. The Demonrats know it will work, that’s why they are fighting so hard against it. Just like the border wall.
Liberals are so concerned about protecting “our kids” from gun violence that they ignore the malice visited each year on tens of nameless millions, whose sole offense is the misfortune to occupy a womb.
It's not a perfect solution, but it is far superior to any of the stupid suggestions most people are suggesting.
Yes, Arm the teachers, and kill these bastards that show up at schools with intentions of shooting people.

I know of several occasions in my life when teaching left wing people how to shoot has changed their outlook on life. Some of them went on to become gun nuts.
Learning how to shoot causes a lot of people to grow up.
Bless their courageous hearts, but they refer to the two coaches who lost their lives in the shootings, as “security guards”. Sadly, it reminds me of the tv commercial where there is a bank robbery and people are on the floor begging the security guard to do something, he replies he is only a “security monitor”. If either of these guys were armed and trained, instead of taking a bullet to save lives they would have shot the shooter.

The antis can’t allow this to happen. The FIRST time a teacher stops a school massacre the anti’s narrative is cold toast.
Some prog judge will assure that that teacher is dragged over the coals for blowing their gig.

There should be a properly-trained person in every school building, if not every room, to protect our children.
No Gun-Free Zones making our kids sacrificial lambs at the mercy of lunatics.
I like the concept, too, of TSA-type screenings as well as doors that ONLY open outward to prevent unauthorized parties from entering.

Future school design should incorporate alcoves of a sort that would afford shielding for CHL teachers or LEOs handling a situation.
He's certainly a bold man and a true leader. Barry, Bubba and the Bushes look smaller every day (I exclude Carter because Reagan already effectively diminished him to an inconsequential presence).
I forget who posted it or where the comment originated, but Trump really does have Reagan's charisma, Eisenhower's steel spine and Nixon's ability to counter-punch. Never thought I'd see something like this, to be honest.
If blue cities can thumb their noses and US immigration laws why can’t “flyover country”/red America thumb its nose at Joe Biden’s “Gun Free Schools” law?
