American ski racer Lindsey Vonn became emotional after she missed out on gold in after a solid run that may be her final downhill race of her Olympic career.
Vonn, who finished 0.47 seconds behind leader Sofia Goggia of Italy, took home bronze, also hit back at the cruel internet trolls who have targeted her after she claimed her bronze medal.
The skier faced taunts and abuse after she said President Donald Trump did not represent her.
When asked by DailyMail.com about the savage abuse she had received, she said: 'I agree it has been "savage abuse."'
'I think the most important thing about social media is to be who you are and remember that everything on social media lasts forever. Social media can be used in a very positive way if you are a good person.
'But I feel recently it has taken a different turn and I hope that instead of tearing people down we can build people up.
'Sports is supposed to be about uplifting…this is the Olympics. We cheer for every country instead of hoping somebody falls or skis of a cliff and dies.'

Has it occurred to these spoiled brats in the NFL and at the Olympics that when they’re so invested in their political or personal issues they aren’t focusing on their sports performance? Perhaps that’s why we’re occasionally feeling warm and fuzzy when they fail.

I loved the Norweigian who got Silver, her pure joy was wonderful to see. And reducing Vonn to tears was a bonus.
What do trolls or anyone else have to do with HER poor performance?
You made stupid statements and others who disagreed gave it back to you. Your performance, however, is your own. Nobody manipulated or used and Jedi mind tricks to mess you up. You messed up.

He is? I thought I read where he golfed with the President and enjoyed the round. In fact, he got a lot of grief for doing it and did not want to do it again just for that purpose.
I think this is a very instructive point.
Most every liberal lives in a bubble. From birth the militant public skool teachers subliminally indoctrinate kids from birth through high school. Then radical professors penalize anyone who strays from the liberal dogma. Compound all of this with the corrupt MSM which never ever permits any balance outside of hardcore liberal doctrinaire, and you get people like Vonn and millions like her.
From the person who is famously quoted as saying she couldn't understand how Nixon won the election because nobody she knew voted for him, liberals are indeed among society's most insolated, emotionally driven, uncritically thinking people.
There is no doubt in my mind that Vonn is truly shocked at the backlash she invited because she has likely never ever given any thought that another world of thought exists, outside of that nefarious dark world of family Conservatives that she occasionally heard horror stories about through the corrupt media or Hollywood.

Misleading story. I watched the event last night. She was genuinely happy about getting a medal and skiing her best (which was darn near flawless ... just not fast enough). The tears came as she was talking about her grandfather who had passed away last Fall.
