That’s different, and I understand that. This is not the fight I want to have.
I’d trade bump stocks for suppressors. Make selling bump stocks illegal (not illegal to make your own), but make selling suppressors legal without paying a giant government fee.

Why not? Since this guy got to office, it’s been 365 days of people swearing to Christ that will do such-and-such at any moment.
For all of the s*it he taking pushing issues for us, it frankly smacks of a bunch of ungrateful rubes on our side, that dont trust him on one damn thing, but are more than happy that he’s taking all the bombs on our behalf, especially with the entirety of the political establishment aiming at him 24/7.
Some days it’s more obnoxious look at my own side, that have spent the past 25 years accomplishing jack, sometimes think of the one guy that has in a worst light than George W. Bush.
You’re going to have that fight, like it or not.
If anything if conservatives raise a stink, hopefully Trump will get the message that we don’t accept this.

If they did, then they came to their senses. Gun bans, even banning such a silly thing as a bump-stock, do nothing to deter criminals.
Listen to what Trump actually said rather than relying on the misleading headline. Will POTUS end up banning all bump stocks? I don’t know. But his statement today doesn’t explicitly state his intention to ban all bump stocks. From the Medal of Valor ceremony today, he directed Sessions to “propose regulations to ban all devices that turn legal weapons into machine guns.” Does that necessarily imply a ban on all bump stocks? Possibly not, but I really don’t know.
Anyone can go to YouTube and listen to what POTUS actually said, and make up their own mind.

Well, if you get a Democrat President, you won’t just lose bump stocks, they will ban so-called assault rifles, put magazine limits, etc.
1) Those are already "illegal" under the National Firearms Act and the Hughes Amendment
2) Both of which are flagrantly unconstitutional and
3) Should be repealed.
Then you’ll get a Democrat who will start banning so-called assault rifles and limiting magazines.
And this country is going down in flames because you people are willing to sell out your birthright for a mess of pottage. Enjoy the destruction of America.
I agree with you. He has to show some action on this, and this is something even the NRA gets behind.

So we fight tooth and nail for a garbage product? Bump stocks are junk. If you want to shoot hams in the back yard for youtube they are great, otherwise they serve no use.
This is a ruse to ban semi-autos. Any semi-auto can be bump-fired without a special stock. To eliminate bump-firing, the only solution is to ban semi-autos.
A totally useless feel-good measure.

So yeah, he's lost my vote and my confidence, and we're all right back where we started 30 years ago: you can vote for the establishment candidate, or you can vote for the other establishment candidate.
