As I wrote elsewhere, just after the whole Virginia "white nationalist"/Antifa kerfuffle last year, the statists cranked up the agitprop to derail Trump/impeach him etc. Many on the "right" also turned on Trump, like the CEOs quitting his Advisory Council.

Ultimately, it was all a futile effort. America/Deplorables, no longer peopled by milquetoast Republicans, understood what Trump was saying (and that he wasn't Hitler's incarnate), the NeverTrumpers kept rambling while Antifa were unmasked as the terrorists that they are, the American Renaissance losers were rejected by Deplorables, and ultimately we got tax reform (among other things).

We are seeing EXACLY the same thing now...on the backs of dead children, the statists want to convert Florida - one of the most pro-gun states in the union (and a vital source of conceal carry reciprocity) - into Connecticut. In the process, the MSM is looking under every rock and in every hole for "conservatives" willing to surrender their right to KABA in return for invitations to cocktail and pizza parties.

Indeed, we got this test balloon: Is the Second Amendment Worth Dying For? The appropriate response, of course came from NorthMountain:

The disarmists need to decide whether or not “gun-control” is worth dying for ...

Buckle up, folks....here we go again.
