On Monday Dallas Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway (D) cited the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy and demanded that the NRA cancel its upcoming convention. The convention is scheduled to take place in the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.
Mayor Pro Tem Caraway spoke Monday about the scheduled NRA convention. Fox 4 reported that he framed his demand that the NRA pull out by pointing to JFKs assassination, then pivoting to the July 7, 2016, fatal ambush of five Dallas police officers, the Florida school shooting, and November 2017 murder of a 27-year-old mother of six in the city, allegedly at the hands of a 15-year-old.
Caraway said:
"Gun violence has played a significant part in Dallas historical past from the assassination of President John F. Kennedy to the five Dallas Police officers gunned down in July 2016 to the brutal murder of a mother of six children in District 4 this past Christmas. It is time to put the heat on the NRA and demand that they work with elected officials in our country to establish gun laws that protect our children and keep our communities safe. We have got to take on the NRA."

It cannot keep up with DNC types either.
The Mayor is disgusting and needs to be removed from office immediately.
Like it or not he swore an oath to uphold the laws of the United States and these include the right to own and bear guns. The NRA is an organization that protects and supports these rights.
This mayor is acting in a hateful and more importantly unconstitutional manner bordering on sedition.
He needs to resign IMMEDIATELY.
Dallas use to be a pretty cool town... then the Liberal idiots gained the majority and it’s truly fallen badly.
Violence by a commnist, blm terrorists, jihadists?
What’s his point?
If Texas is going looney left...... we are all sunk
Put your money where your mouth is and make every officer in the county go Andy Griffith...
Isn’t this guy under investigation for bribery?
5.56mm
Two infamous Texas shooters, Lee Harvey Oswald and Charles Whitman, were jarheads. By this knothead’s “logic,” we should ban the United States Marine Corps.
NRA to communist Dallas mayor: GFY
It’s got to be drugs, or the drinking water...the country has gone nuts.
Wonder if the mayor consulted with the hotels and other providers expecting to make money from the convention? Or if he even bothered to look at the rental agreement for the convention hall?
In 2016 the United States as we know it was saved by an election miracle. It is my belief that the current assault on the Second Amendment is a coordinated action designed to limit the ability of the public to resist a corrupt government. Now, more than ever, we must stand our ground or be prepared to be ruled, taxed and persecuted by a permanently entrenched government.
NRA had a great convention in Atlanta last year. There were large welcoming signs at the airport, protesters (the few that showed up) were kept a mile away, all the attendees were greeted warmly at the convention hall. And Atlanta made at least $50 million off the convention.
Caraway is also the one that led the charge to take down the beautiful Robert E. Lee statue in Lee Park. It was quite the debacle. He’s under suspicion of taking bribes right now. I hope they investigate him. He and Mayor Rawlings and the entire city council are a bunch of libs.
He’s just trying to deflect attention from the fact that he’s being investigated...
Sounds like a public accomadations violation to me.
A commie assinated JFK. Oswald was not an NRA member.
So much for freedom of assembly in the 1st Amendment.
He sure is but he'll probably throw down the black privilege card.
Contract law? There will be some major payouts if the NRA is forced to cancel. They have a contract. I wonder how the convention center view this?
